Sparkler Exits: In or Out?

Lynnie, on February 18, 2019 at 10:35 Posted in Wedding reception 0 31

Are you even married if you don't do a sparkler exit?Smiley winking This trend totally took over weddings for the last few years, but some venues are trying to fight back against this fire hazard! 🔥

What do you think? Are sparkler exits still in, or is this trend on the way out?

In! I want to do it but we're staying in the hotel that the venue is also in. Maybe we'll walk around the venue and then go back in and to our room lol

I love sparkler pictures! I am doing this (if my venue allows). I only have 22 guests so I'm not worried about people having them all lit at the same time. There is a very large outdoor area so I don't think it would be too much of a fire hazard.

In! I love the idea! I wanted to do this as well, but my FH made the point that we likely can't get everyone outside at the same time (kids, drunk people, etc). Also, I am getting married at the end of May, so it may be too light to do this (I wouldn't want to do it as an exit, as we have young parents that will likely leave after dessert).

Out. I don't think we would have grand exit as some of the quests would have already left and some would still want to stay and dance.

Out! Sparklers become dangerous around kids not being handled properly. Sanctuary holidays are good for sparklers being outdoors.

It reminds me of what the brides on the older episodes of Four Weddings would do, so I would say out.

I even think big exists are on their way out too.

We plan on celebrating with our guests throughout the reception.

Honestly I don’t think these are super trendy but they’re definitely cute and I personally really like them.

I’m going to say out. I don’t plan on having a big exit and most weddings I’ve been to resent my didn’t have big exits either. Also, the timing to have everyone light their sparklers at the same time might be difficult.

In! These photos are so amazing I wish we could do them. But I don't want to do a fake exit and come back in and also my venue does not allow them.

Out- I find most weddings i have been to that the couple leaves last and doesn't have a huge ending to the night.

I don’t feel one way or the other on this one. I think for me personally, the logistics of this would be difficult. So I’ll go with out

Out for exits. I don't want that many sparks near me! But I like them individually for night photos (like when someone runs in a circle around you).

In!! Always had a soft spot for sparklers and "grand exits" in general. I think I still love them becauseI haven't seem it as often.

I agree with most brides here that in theory, it's a good idea, but it might need a lot of prep and timing for it to work out. Personally, I'd rather give it a try than regret itSmiley smile

We're doing a grand exit (leaving about 30 minutes before our guests and last call), so we might do this or something similar!

In. I think they’re great, but I’ve never actually seen one work out- most of them the sparklers are done by the time the couple walks past

Yes, I agree - and there is actually a lot of prep required for this to work out, I've heard.

In! We are probably going to do this just for the pictures. We plan to party all night so there will be no grand exit for us lol

Out. I don't see us having a big exit as we'll likely be among the last people there knowing me and my need to make sure everything is okay.

As much as I love sparklers and all things fireworks, I'm over grand exits in general. We'll be the last ones at the reception plus it seems odd that guests would want to stay at the reception one the bride/groom are gone. Come talk to me when sparker ENTRANCES are in lol

I think they look really pretty, but I’m not a huge fan of the bride and groom leaving before all the guests. I think the bride and groom should be there until the bitter end of the reception.
