Sound systems

Cheryl, on October 27, 2016 at 12:04 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 6
While planning my FH randomly brought to mind that we should have some kind of system to make things a little clearer. Do any of you have tips for what kind of system to use or how to use it at either the ceremony or reception? Thank you!

Hi Cheryl Smiley heart I'm so glad you're already starting to think about your music!!

Do you know what songs you'd like to play? Smiley smile

You can also have a look at the vendors in our directory to see if there's one near you that could have a good sound system for you:

Will you have songs playing during your ceremony as well?

Awesome- I know when we were looking at venues there were quite a few that had Audio visual equipment available to borrow, or inculded in the cost, so you shouldn't have too much trouble! Just make sure you are very clear on how much they charge, and who is on the hook for damages- and what would be done in the event of an equipment malfunction on the day of your wedding (they should have resources to get you replacements quick!)

I haven't booked yet, but we're getting there. That helps a lot!

Then you will need something for sure!

I can't remember- have you booked a venue yet? If not, I would suggest you make a "must have" for the venue a sound system you can tie into with your ipod or laptop...This gets much harder for outdoor events. You could try to use a battery powered amp outside, but it won't be quite as loud as a professional system.

You could look at renting the speakers and amps (and a generator if you are outside), but the cost of doing this often comes to more than a DJ would charge unfortunately.

    Does any of this help?

We are doing it all ourselves! We're just trying to find the easiest way to go about it.

    Hey Cheryl!

Are you hiring a DJ or band? They would normally include things like that in your contract. Some venues also include a sounds system that you can tie into if you are operating your own playlist.
