Something Old, New, Borrowed & Blue: Yea or Nay?

Will you wear something old, new, borrowed, and blue on your wedding day? Or are you scrapping this wedding tradition? Yea or Nay?

I think it's a fun tradition. My dress and whatnot will all be new and there will be some blue in my bouquet so I'm halfway there without even meaning to be!

I think I’ll do it, but if I forget or it doesn’t work out, it wouldn’t stress me out

Yea. Something borrowed was my hairpiece, something old were my great aunts earrings, something blue were the "I Do" stickers on the bottom of my heels, and my something new...was everything else (dress, veil, bracelet, shoes).

I did this because seemed like a sweet idea. My mom and mom in law gave me the items without me asking so it kind of just happened to be honest.

Yeppers. And multiples of most. I think I still need something blue... I thought I'd have something sapphire in my jewelry, but then I raided my mom's jewelry box and picked a diamond (fake)/amethyst bracelet instead....

My grandma's garter is blue, so I was going to wrap that around my bouquet. Plus I'm borrowing jewelry, wearing grandparents things, and of course my new dress and shoes... I'm ready! Haha.

Maybe. I like this, but I have a hard time figuring out "borrowed" and "blue".

I think I would like to keep with this tradition, but I have no idea what I would do for most of them yet.

I did but only because it worked out that way! Old and borrowed was the veil my mom and aunt wore. Blue was the ribbon on my bouquet. New was dress, shoes, earrings

I’m not sure as it isn’t important to me, but it sounds cute in theory.

I'm definitely doing these. I'm sentimental AND superstitious, so there wasn't really any question. I already have them picked out... my favourite is the penny for my shoe. I bought a British sixpence coin from the year my mom was born.

Wasn’t going to do it but then my FSIL offered me one of her morher’s handmade handkerchiefs. My FH’s parents are deceased so the offer means a lot and I’m touched.

So i’ll figure out the other components in the upcoming months.

Nay. I found that most French-Canadians don't really have that traditions (including myself and the women in my family), I only learned about it from rom-com movies and TV shows.

I will be doing these, I think they're cute. My plans for it are:

Something old: my in-laws' stefana crowns (if they'll let us use them, have not asked yet Smiley atonished )

Something new: My dress and veil

Something borrowed: My mom's pearl necklace

Something blue: my shoes or garter
