Small boobs in a dress

Vanessa, on October 26, 2018 at 17:30 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 14
I have small ladies and a strapless dress. I’m hoping to see cups into the dress but is that the best idea? Should I do something else to accentuate my girls? Lol the only thing I don’t want is to look like it’s too big on the bust (aka have a “space”) even when it’s altered.

I feel ya! Especially since I’m plus sized and still have tiny tatas - my seamstress could only take the bust in so far and even with the cups, I’m not even close to having cleavage. I did order some ‘chicken fillets’ to tuck into the cups. I also considered taping the girls up - there are some good videos on you tube for it.

Push up cups would be fine then!

I'm not worried about it falling down because the dress actually has a band inside before you zip it up to prevent that. It was fine when I tried it on even though the bust was big I didn't feel like it was falling down at all, just worried more about the cup size than anything.

I'm not planning to look boobalicious or anything haha just wanted to have a little hint of cleavage in my wedding dress - I think it'll just elevate the dress. Definitely going to ask for push up cups. Thanks!

I'm not worried about what people think and I'm not trying to "meet a certain image". I just want my boobs to fill out my dress on my wedding day and I wanted some advice on how to make them look more full lol.

Vanessa, you do you! You should not have to feel like you need to alter the way your body appears to meet a certain "image". As long as you feel beautiful and comfortable in your dress, that is all that matters, not what other people think. Have a great day and happy planning! :-)

I completely agree with Brittany! I'm in the same boat as her and I won't be hiding mine as EVERYBODY knows I have them. Plus because I wear glasses half the time - I will also be taking some pictures in them even though I much prefer to wear contacts. Just be you.

I would consult your seamstress - if you have one. If not, find one that gets great reviews and could provide some advice. Your dress-shop consultant might also be able to give some feedback.

My girls are not overly large where they'll need a cup with lots of support, but they're not small either so I won't need any push-up cups. A good seamstress will help accentuate your natural beauty without making you look too different in your dress. The people at your wedding know what you look like day to day, and your FH knows too! I wouldn't too much about altering your look.

I worry about the same thing too, Vanessa! I’m small chested and have a strapless dress - but will definitely get the cups sewn in - so I won’t have to worry about a strapless bra slipping down and being uncomfortable. I think I’m also going to consider thin straps when I get my dress and when it’s altered/fitted.. just because I worry so much I’ll be pulling my dress, trying to keep it up!! 😭

Okay, so I may have the complete opposite problem, but the nature of my advice goes for both of us: just be you! I'm not going to try and squish/tuck/hide my girls away, even though I can get very self-conscious of their size, and I wouldn't suggest trying to over do it either.

Stephanie is right, if alterations are done properly, good sewn-in cups underneath the bust, with your dress altered just right, should be perfect to accent the girl's natural beauty.

The top of the neckline should be pulled back enough to make sure there's no gap, and the cups in the right position will put the girls front and centre on their own!

    Good luck!

Hey!!!! I'm with you on that one!! My twins are little but I have been graced with a NICE BIG BUTT so I am accenting it instead as best I can hahah!! I am sewing cups into the dress so I wont be concerned at all with a bra or anything, and if they alter the cups properly you wont have the top gap! (Which I love in regular bras it's great for holding your phone hahha! )
I wouldn't recommend putting too much in there to lift/accent/make them fuller... I've done things in regular dresses like wear TWO bras to perk the ladies but.... I get worried that with the lift my nipples might come out over the top??? Its sounds strange but it has happened to me and I would haaaate for that to happen to anyone on their wedding day!
So give them a little help but dont go overboard! Have the alterations dart the tops of the cups to help cover any gap too!
