Simple centrepieces

Stephanie, on July 28, 2017 at 15:10 Posted in Wedding reception 0 13

We're looking for ideas for simple centrepieces for the tables at our reception. Because there are a large number of children attending our wedding (7 children age 6 and under) we want to avoid the risk of the centrepieces being knocked over. My Maid of Honour suggested silk flowers or coloured sand, but I am looking for other ideas.

Did you hire a decorator for your wedding? Ask them for suggestions and if they can do a mock up of a centrepiece for you!

I would suggest a low acrylic vase or clear plastic with artificial flowers and LED lights in them. Nothing can get broken.

I was thinking of something like this. That way when everyone's sitting they're not trying to look around or over tall decorations if they want to chat Smiley smile

I have been to weddings where there were a stack of 3 books or wood pieces tied nicely together.

That's a neat idea. We might try that.

You can get a short bouquet of balloons and the kids can take some of them home after! I did that for our engagement party and it was a huge success!

It would depend on your theme. You could go baskets of flowers, we are doing lanterns with flameless candles and flowers around it, my friend did low rose bowls with a floating candle.

Low, sturdy glassware. Short and stubby type of vases. You could fill them with hydrangeas from Costco.
