Should i move my wedding on a later date?

Krycea, on August 24, 2021 at 13:41 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 5
Hi everyone!

We are currently booked for our wedding ceremony in March... I havent committed to any other vendors yet because I am having second thoughts if I should move our wedding date to fall of next year.
I always wanted to get married with snow in the background (i know its weird that I like snow lol) but Im worried about covid. The numbers are rising up again and I feel like it is riskier to have the wedding in spring than in the next fall.
And I want his grandmother to come too... she lives in the US, and I dont think she will like to travel during winter even if covid is controlled. 🥺

You wish to postpone the date prior to getting other vendors booked is a good idea. A small intimate wedding can take place and the reception can be booked for the latter date celebrations.
Intimately, the choice is your both to make end of the day to know what's best in your hearts.

Thanks! This helped me a lot! Everything is uncertain right now, but at the end of the day, the important thing is we choose what feels right and the safety of everyone. Smiley smile

We were originally December, then March, and now September. So like you, we wanted a hint of snow as our backdrop only to decide on September because we felt it would be safer.

If I had to pick between a snowy backdrop or a safe environment for family and friends to celebrate, snow easily gets kicked to the curb.

I wish I had a crystal ball for you but unfortunately none of us do... What I can tell you though - because I was the same and wanted snow so badly - is my own experience during covid this past year. Our wedding was originally planned for NYE, which had to be postponed (Ontario lockdown #2), but we still had our legal ceremony outside. No snow. LOL. Then our new date was March 13; there was a good foot of snow until March 12 when most of it melted because of a random warm day. So... As much as I HOPE you have snow for your special day, don't make the decision banking on snow. Do what feels right for you and your fiance, what's most important/what do you want, and in the end it will be your perfect day!!
