Should i be concerned with the virus interfering with my July wedding

Julia, on March 15, 2020 at 14:27 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 12

I read about some other brides on here getting married in april and may and some are post poining there wedding. Ours is outside of Edmonton and we probably will only have 45 people no one is from out of Canada or anything really starting to get nervous and upset . IM kind of stuck at what to do or think at this time

Hi I feel the same way my wedding is August 01. So I'm going to leave it as is and will reassess in June.

We are August. Not cancelling anything right now. The cases in China and now South Korea are declining on a daily basis. For instance, yesterday Spain saw 1,440 new cases in 24 hours while China only saw 36 (Source: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/). I am hopeful things will level out later in the spring here.

Keep your date as it is. By the time this whole thing is done, you will be glad to know everything is safe and sound. Your guests will still make it to your wedding given the green light of borders being opened and the city safety being good.

Nope! Wedding is July 2-10 and we’re still going full speed ahead. Things will get better, they usually do. That, or the world finds a new distraction. Either way I expect the pandemonium to keep going for another couple weeks into the end of next month and then we’ll all have moved on by then

I agree with not cancelling anything! We have two weddings we are going to in July and they are going forward still. Things are changing rapidly, and with the extreme measures coming into play, lets hope it works and pans this virus out so we can get back to a new normal. Its tough, and its scary and I wish we had more certainties but being such an unprecedented situation, I think everyone is truly playing it by ear as each day comes.

We are getting married in August and havent cancelled anything. Like Amelia said, just keep an eye out in the spring and see what happens.

Once the warmer weather hits, I think there will be a decline in the virus. People are more aware of it now and with the restrictions that they have in place, the amount of cases should decline. I think the media is creating more of a hype than needs to be, but I'm glad that people are closing for two weeks to encourage people to self isolate.

I wouldn't worry about anything yet. Keep an eye on warnings later in the spring.

Hopefully by May/June we will be past the quarantine portion of the virus and the restrictions will be lifted. You're lower risk too since you're having a smaller wedding without international travel.

I’m not concerned for our July 18 wedding. We aren’t cancelling anything at this point!
