Short Videography

Alejandra, on April 11, 2018 at 15:59 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 8

Hi,

My fiance and I are interested on getting some video work done on our wedding day but not a lengthy video. We would like just bits and pieces of the whole day instead. We don't want to pay the full price for a videographer because we are not looking to video tape everything that happens. Does anyone know someone that does that style of work?

Thank you!

Hi Alejandra! You might be able to negotiate a lower price with a videographer if they just record the ceremony and just the first hour or so of your reception. But unfortunately most videographers take hours and hours of footage in order to be able to edit things down into a beautiful 5 minute highlight video!

You can check out my highlight video in this discussion: Share your wedding video! I had 2 videographers there for a total of 8 hours.

I would definitely reach out to videographers in Toronto to check out their work and ask about pricing and packages!

I wanted something similar to this, and was recommended by some people on this community about doing a DIY videography. We went with a company called Weddit. They send you some cameras and you can ask your guests to shoot footage for you. Afterwards, you return it and you can pay them to edit it all for you. I had 5 cameras, gave 3 to guests, one to my bridesmaids and one to the groomsmen. We got to see all the footage before and decided if we wanted to edit it or not.

They only downside is they are American companies so their prices are American, and we need to pay for shipping, however, they are still 10x cheaper than a typical videographer. Something for you to consider! I really enjoyed the experience and have some fun footage!

I think that's hard to find since they'll need to be attending the whole ceremony anyways. I know most videographer has an only ceremony pacakge so perhaps look in to that. They also include video reels which is what your describing.

My friend does videography in the GTA and she’s just starting out, so her prices are good, and she’s having a special right now. Check out her Facebook page: MLucilaVideo.

The vendor search on Wedding Wire is really helpful as well.
