September 2023 Wedding!

Leticia, on August 15, 2022 at 16:27 Posted in Plan a wedding 1 18

Congratulations to the wonderful people engaged and planning for their September wedding!

I would love to know where you guys are at with planning now?

What have you accomplished so far?

I dont even have a venue yet because people have taken my preferred date Smiley sad

When should i start freaking out? I feel like the more disappointment i receive throughout my planning to find exactly what i want, im just going to end up settling for something i wont be 100% happy with.

Congrats and I haven't gotten crazy far in planning either. We just got the venue this week and that was after quite some asking around. Thankfully it's a wedding package that takes care of most of the vendors so we really only have to think about photography, videography, and music. We're going through photographers now, hope to pin that down before November.
We realized we had to be flexible with our preferred date as with all the postponed covid weddings taking precedence, it's very hard to find availability for 12 months away! We were able to keep it in the same month as planned but a different date. I ain't even mad.

Congratulations!! We're Sept 9 2023 , and we're pretty well finished for main vendors, I have ordered my dress, and now we're just waiting on finding bridemaids dresses/groomsmen attire this fall! Cant believe its coming so soon, almost 12 months! I've been enjoying planning the little things ie/ wedding invites, decor, colours, etc Smiley smile

    Hi there!

I had a lot of back and forth with the venue and the church to settle on our wedding date. We changed our date three times! I would say to be as flexible as possible, but also make sure you're happy. For us, it was the reception hall. We ended up changing the date of our wedding, and even the church to accommodate having our reception at the venue we really wanted.

As for feeling behind on everything, once you get the date booked and confirmed, I suggest trying to book everything else that's 'major'...so photography/videographer, DJ, etc. Once those vendors are booked, you'll feel a weight lifted off your shoulders!

    Best of luck!

Once I found the venue I've had to change my date to the point where I was like what do you have available and we took it.

I have everything pretty much done that I am running out of things to do. I am getting Married September 30th 2023. I would highly start looking for a venue since with the **** Covid cancelations **** have been booking up fast especially photographers, hair and make up, florist, bakers.

Not to stress you out but you are hitting the 1 year mark and I would start planning, dress shopping. At least get things booked and planned. Everything else can be done for the winter.

You’re not behind at all, don’t worry! Lots of people don’t even have a full year from engagement to wedding. I would definitely suggest securing a venue as soon as you can afford to do so if youre particular about date/season because demand is so high for 2023. You got this don’t worry!

Venue dates being booked the date you want for a particular spot you want will be hard though you have to choose another closer date to it as its available. I do hope you find your date and eventually enjoy it since you will know its your day at the end of it.

We are getting married 16th September, we were somewhat flexible, I originally wanted the 23rd but we are getting married on a tall ship so I am hoping one week earlier will stay a little warmer in the evening. If those dates were taken I would have taken anything they had lol, its the venue I was most interested in the date just had to be "not" in the dead heat of summer. I am consumed with the engagement party so have done nothing about photographer, officiant, save the dates, dresses etc. The venue does the catering and Dj and minimal set up, I am sooooo glad because I am a planning nightmare LMAO. Good luck everyone! much love and happiness to you all.

How flexible are you for the month of September? Does it have to be a Saturday? Unfortunately, wedding season for next year is already in high gear and more places will be booking, FAST.

I would sit down and look at dates that work for you and your spouse as soon as you can. Also look into Friday, I am getting married on a Friday next year and we have had no issues with people so far. The venue is probably one of the top 3 important parts of a wedding and if you guys wait any longer on picking a place your options will be less and less by the week.

I always wanted a September wedding but my fiancé being in the military is not available the last 2 weeks of September and the first 2 weeks of October. I can never book time off the first 2 weeks of a month due to my work. So we settle for late August. It's all about compromise.

    HI!

We lucked out and got the venue we wanted on the date we wanted but if we didn't get that date I honestly would have pushed it until next year because we're flexible so I think it depends on that. We also got engaged in August 2021 so we still have a long engagement.

So far we have venue (which includes food, bar package and staff) I have my ceremony and reception dresses, our photographer, DJ and I've organized my bridal party.

That being said, I still need to send out save the dates/invites, pick bridesmaids dresses, order suits, hire a decorator and block off hotel rooms. I also need to cost out if it would be better to make the flower arrangements myself (I'm doing very simple greenery for the whole wedding) or go through a traditional florist.

I agree that if you aren’t completely set on a date try to be flexible! I really wanted a fall wedding (late September) but had to compromise because of my job. We settled on September 3rd, 2023! I have my ceremony and reception venue booked, hair and makeup, and photographer. I have asked my bridal party and I’m getting my engagement photos done soon for our save the dates! I was surprised how fast some of my favourite photographers booked up, so once your venue is booked I would do that right away!

    Hello!

We are getting married Sept 23rd 2023. So far I have my dress, deposit down on a venue(we're doing ceremony and reception there, doing all inclusive so we dont have to worry about booking a DJ, table decor/linens and plates and stemware, and they do set up and take down ect) the only thing we have to get is catering, liquor license, liquor, and I have save the date cards ready to be sent out. Have started looking for photographers, and hair and make up but haven't booked anyone yet. We have a caterer in mind as well, just haven't booked or put a deposit down yet.
Have you considered switching your date to accommodate getting the venue you wanted? Could do a Friday or a Sunday or even a Thursday?

I agree, are you flexible on date. My fiancé and I had a couple weekends in mind also because we loved our venue. But I wouldn’t freak out, I’m getting married sept 2023, and I don’t have confirmation from our venue yet. We just have our first draft wedding list and our ceremony space.. (which is my cottage so there was no leg work in that)

My sister got married on a Friday.. just ask what availability the venue has and see what you have to work with!
    Good luck!

Do you really like that one particular venue? Is the date you wanted on a Saturday? Have you thought about possibly having a Friday or Sunday wedding? My husband and I did that when we had to change our date twice but wanted to be at that venue no matter what. We got married last Sunday.

How flexible are you on the date? Do you prioritize that over the venue of choice?

We had a season in mind and was flexible with which weekend that was available (as long as it didn't fall into one of the Chinese bad luck dates as per the parents). This made finding and securing a venue much easier.
