Sending out wedding invitations

Ashley, on August 6, 2020 at 10:47 Posted in Plan a wedding 1 6
Hi Brides 💗 Wondering if anyone else
Is nervous to send out wedding invitations at this time? Our wedding is not till September 2021. Everyone is telling me by then things should be “fine” however, I’m obviously skeptical. No one truly knows what the future holds as far as this pandemic, anyway I
am still going forward with planning, just wonderinghow people will feel when receiving the invite, are they going to come? Are they going to feel uncomfortable? Now I’m suddenly worried, will peoplecome? So many unknowns.

We were having the same discussion, as no one knows what the next year will look like with the pandemic second wave, restrictions etc. We postponed to July 2021 and decided to wait until after Christmas to send Save the Dates and Invites to be sent in February/March. We hope to not have to postpone again or make any new adjustments, and part of doing so is about giving enough time to see how the pandemic unfolds. Many guests may not be comfy giving an RSVP just yet Smiley winking

We are getting married June 2021 and are just about ready to send out our save the dates. We wont send our invites out until next April.

Invitations being sent out is early for this time and should be next year in the summer months. I would keep an eye out to see if the mail delivery is slow as now as it is getting delayed for guests to receive. The mail process is fast and on time, July would be a good time to think about sending them out next year.

The chances for sending the invitations out way out early this time of year is guests losing them and asking for another. I went through this personally and be prepared to share through WhatsApp or media they use as a back up plan.

I agree with what everyone else is saying. It is too early to send invites. Perhaps you can send save the dates but I wouldn’t send invites till around March -April... realistically even June.

Your wedding is over a year away so I wouldn't worry too much about invitations just yet. Usually invites go out 3-6 months before the big day. If you wanted to, you could send out save the date cards. My fiance and I had sent out save the dates last August for our August 8th 2020 wedding since we were getting married out of our province so people knew that they would be traveling and such. But in May we decided for the best to postpone until August 2021. We then just let all of our guests know that we've had to postpone because of covid. Sometimes like this kind of situation is out of hands.

You do still have a year, so I wouldn’t worry about invites just yet. Usually invites go out anywhere from 2-6 months before (or earlier if you’re on a holiday weekend), and if your guests are like mine, they didn’t send their RSVPs back until we called them saying the wedding was still going ahead. You could send a save the date to have your guests keep their calendars clear in the meantime.
