Second guessing my choice.... opinions needed!

Adriana, on January 27, 2023 at 09:18 Posted in Wedding fashion 1 23

Below is me in the dress and a stock photo of the same dress (I'm having the strap removed)

I can't stop wondering if the bottom of the dress is too odd looking. Is it just because it hasn't been altered yet?? Help!!

Yes, that’s absolutely why. I had second thoughts and doubts about my dress choice too, but once it was altered and I tried it on, it was just gorgeous!

I tried to stay open minded when I went looking and tried on many different styles... I left the salon and went back for this one, so hoping once it is altered I will see why I loved it so much!

Once it is hemmed and you have the right slip (perhaps an A-line slip?), I'm sure the dress will look the way you envisioned.

I have had some worries about my dress as well as I bought a ball gown style. I was sure I would buy a mermaid style! However, I keep remembering how I felt in the dress. Have faith in the feelings you had when you tried your dress on! Good luck!

Try a petticoat. You might need to look around a bit to find the right style to fit under that dress... But if comparing the stock image with yours? I feel the only real visible difference is there is nothing Puffing out your dress to accentuate and show off those cute ruffles!
Don't doubt your choice! You made it for a reason and as everyone else has said, it hasn't even been Tailored to you yet and Already looks nice! Once you do it will be even better. Don't stress the dress, yer sure to impress 😜

I agree that it will look different once hemmed. Take into consideration the angle that you’re looking at the dress in the stock photo. I was having the same questions about mine. I went with a mermaid style, which I never thought I would. You look beautiful and you’ll feel magical on your special day.

Trust the process, for sure once you get your dresses hemmed will make a difference. Also don't compare one dress to another, this is how you will start doubting yourself. The dress looks great on you, and you haven't had it altered yet.

Also find it helps if you do your hair and makeup similar to your wedding day so you can vision how beautiful you will be.

Thank you - I am also planning to make the neckline more of a sweetheart instead of so straight across... hoping the skirt will sit nicer once its altered. I loved this when I put it on but keep looking at the photo and wondering if I made the right choice. So stressful!! lol

Hey girlie! Beautiful photo Smiley smile

I'm all for a little volume/different material at the bottom/back to add something different to a dress - I think it's fun. Also, good call on removing the strap, I also prefer it without. I think hemming will help, after alterations can make such a difference, trust!

I think once you get it hemmed to your length it will look perfect since right now you have a lot of extra fabric. Mine was the same way before I got mine fixed
