Seating Chart - Old School or Online?

Cliodhna, on December 16, 2019 at 09:05 Posted in Wedding reception 0 20

It’s definitely not the most fun of wedding tasks! How do you plan on plotting and planning out where guests will sit? Will you use an online seating chart tool (like WeddingWire’s) or go old school with poster board and post-its?

How are you creating your seating chart? Old school or online?

I used Wedding Wire's. We're only having about 70 guests so it wasn't complicated at all.

Online. I used the seating chart on WW and it was great! Got it done in an evening!

    Online.

The WW chart was easily accessible to use for putting guests at the tables of the shape chosen. meals along with it was easy to know who got served what for the kitchen to have a copy.

Im using wedding wires app. Works well and user friendly. I started planning mine right away. As time goes on I will adjust. I am trying not to be that person who is late minute and flustered.

We've been using wedding wire to take our rough written out list/chart and make it more visible with the charts and tables and it is extremely useful to have and be able to move people around and pick the type of table and #of people at each table etc.

Online at first - we made a chart on WW... but then the day of we had quite a few people say they all of a sudden couldn't make it... so then it was just a free for all Smiley atonished

We are just assigning tables and then the 8 people who sit at that table can sit in any spot that they wish and beside who ever they wish.

Again both! The wedding wire seating chart was being temperamental (wasn't letting me move guests around easily at first) when I was building my seating chart, so we wrote out a list of who to sit at each table and then put it into wedding wire once we finalized it.

I used WW's seating chart to organize everyone, I then printed it and brought it to my family to go over it. We used sticky notes to move people around and work with my initial layout

I'm using the Wedding Wire seating chart to organize everyone and then once we have that finalized we'll order a printed poster to display at the venue.

    We've been using weddingwire's!

We've also got friends that got married at the same venue and they were kind enough to share their layout with us so we're grabbing some inspiration there

I've thrown together a rough version on WeddingWire already and it works great so I'll probably stick with that one!

Our venue uses a planning tool through their portal - so that's how we'll do the final version.

I'll probably use paper first though haha.
