Scottish wedding

Amber, on December 13, 2017 at 14:49 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 3
Hi everyone! I will be marrying a Scottish lad and therefore we will be having a Scottish wedding. I have ideas for fitting the tartan into the decor, he will be in Scottish attire, and we will have pipers play. I was wondering if anyone had luck ordering kilts... not wool... where to get non traditional piper music (renditions of songs) where to book, etc?
thabks in advance!

I am Scottish and am incorporating a lot of Scottish elements into my wedding. The Groom's party will be wearing tartans, my father is having a custom tartan made and the men in my wedding party will be wearing tartan ties. There will be a piper and I'm going to ask my cousin who highland dances to dance the wedding party in! We will also have my two younger cousins as horseshoe boys.

Where are you getting married? I know that Ottawa has The Scottish and Irish Store which would probably be your best bet if you live in the area. If not, I would try online.

My fiance and his groomsmen will be wearing kilts at our wedding. It took me a bit of coming around to at first, but now that it has all arrived it looks so good! I just googled kilt shops and found a great place that dealt directly with Scottish sewn manufacturers. Hopefully there is an amazing shop in your area that can customize his outfit for you guys.

Also for bringing in the tartan, we didn't do this (fiance decided to wear a kilt after most of the decisions had been made). If you are trying to the the colours in, some cute things I've seen are bride's with a peice of fabric in their updo, nd I've even seen custom designed shoes in a tartan fabric (the bride was Scottish as well, she switched from her tartan shoes to his tartan covered shoes after the ceremony).

Best of luck! It is a beautiful culture!
