Saving Money..

Katrina, on April 14, 2020 at 20:20 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 11

Due to the recent pandemic, my fiancé and I aren’t working which means it’s harder to save for our wedding in July 2021. Which means we might have to push or wedding back. Any tips?

Somethings I did find that savings were
    1. Rentals for décor that will be torn down by the company at the end of the event or returned the next day by you two. Artificial floral centerpieces follow under this category. Same with the dress if you choose not to pay full price to keep after the day is done.
    2. DIY projects will be a nice touch to add to your venue for guests to appreciate. If you do wish to save on the Thank you cards postage costs, placing them on the table will be easier as they can take it home with some edible candy or chocolates with it to enjoy it at home if not after dinner. I did this option with our favour per household, couple and individuals that attended personally with their names on the card itself.
    3. Simple is less and better to enjoy with your guests as well as going sweetheart table to enjoy the time as a newlywed couple. The party following will be with everyone on the dance floor and bar as you move around.

You're welcome! I'd say I mostly see these on Instagram so follow some vendors and i'm sure you will come across some posts Smiley smile

Agreed! I'm hoping this is over soon as well.

Congrats on your engagement and i'm sorry to hear that you aren't working right now.

    Saving for a wedding:

I'm finding that a lot of vendors lower their costs when trying to fill their days up .. my girlfriend does makeup for weddings and I know that often she posts a discount post 6 -9 months prior to those dates saying "25% off these days" etc. I'm not sure if it will work for you but this could be a cost savings idea .. if you can wait on booking on vendors. Our flower vendor is doing the exact same thing as she is trying to fill up her Oct/Nov/Dec 2020 dates right now.

I really hope you don't have to push your wedding back!

Have a cheaper wedding. Ours is costing us about $5000 for everything for 65 people.

Have you already booked all your vendors? If not, you could spend more time looking for ones that charge less or willing to give a discount to Covid affected brides! I'm currently negotiating deals with my vendors Smiley smile

It’s not much but when my FH and I started saving for our house I got a Scotiabank savings account that gave pretty good interest per month.

It was better than $0 a month anyway. So I would talk to your bank and see what savings accounts they have.
And let your vendors know your budget! They’ll work with you for sure!
