Save the date

JuneBride, on April 19, 2018 at 11:48 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 11

For those who are sending out save the date cards, how far in advance did you or are going to send them? Every timeline I look at say 4-5 months in advance. I want to send out in mid June so people will have almost a year notice. Is that way too early?

I'm all about sending STD's way in advance. I think 10 months in advance is a good time to send them (although I'm planning to send them 12 months in advance for our high OOT guest count).

We sent ours out in December, a year in advance. Our wedding is 15 Dec, so I wanted our out of town guest to be able to save throughout the year since it's so close to Christmas.

I think Save the Dates should go out WAY early... between 10 - 12 months in advance.

I would then send Invitations about 3-4 months in advance.

We sent out our save the dates 7 months before our wedding. I think it depends on where your wedding is located, if it's a destination wedding I think the more notice the better so your guest can have time to save.

I agree with Jessica and believe 9 to 12 months would be ideal!

They typical timeframe is to send out save the dates 6-8 months before your wedding date, but I think it doesn’t hurt to send them earlier! Most of the weddings we’ve been invited to have sent out save the dates 1 year in advance.

For save the dates, I would say between 9 and 12 months in advance is perfect! You don't want to send them too close to when you'll be sending invites, otherwise you've wasted money on the cards. I think a year ahead gives everyone lots of time to plan, especially if your wedding is during the summer months when there may be lots of other weddings.

It all depends on where everyone is located! I will be sending 9 months in advance due to out of province guests, majority are out of town and summer time is busy time of year and to let anyone we don't see often know to save the date.
