rsvp Woes

Julie, on February 26, 2019 at 18:28 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 10
We are short 38 RSVP's. We spent a good part of the weekend finding phone numbers and making calls. We were both told by our potential Guests that their RSVP was mailed 2 weeks ago and yes they're coming! We were relieved and excited! Our Rsvps were due back Feb 20. Monday came and no responses and now it's Tuesday and still not a single RSVP. Do we wait until the Weekend and start calling again? Our Wedding is March 23. We can't do tables & seating charts or order in our place cards, special table numbers or the seating chart until we have these RSVPs. I really don't want to be a pain... should we give it one last week?

Thank you all for your support. We received a lot of RSVPS this week. This Morning we made call number 2 to our Guests who we have not received their RSVP from. This time we asked for their meal choices so we can get our numbers, seating chart, place cards and our tables figured out. I'll never understand why its so hard to send in a stamped RSVP. My Fiance has realized 20 days before our Wedding just what a big deal this is and I am appreciative all the calls he's made and can see he's understanding how much stress there is this last month. Exciting too!

We gave ourselves lots of breathing room for this situation. Wedding is June 1st, sent invites a few weeks ago and the deadline is April 26th. If we don't receive all our RSVPs we will send out another RSVP card with a late RSVP warning, just saying that if they do not RSVP soon they are off the list.

Send an email for friendly reminders that you need to know if they are coming. Your guests have things to do and places to be which is understandable. Getting back to you has to get your numbers finalized for sure no matter what happens.

I would follow-up ASAP! As much as you think you might be a pain, it's important to get those numbers ASAP so you can get seating chart, place cards, meal selections, etc all set!

I would start calling, don't want to wait for them to come in! I know my catering company wanted final numbers a month in advance.

Thank you everyone for your advice. Between myself, my FH and our Parents, we spoke to each couple 3 days ago. I do wish now that we'd asked what their meal choices are... We will hope that their are lots of RSVPs between today Wed to Friday and make the final calls again getting meal choices. We must have meal Choices in by March 12. It honestly is just something I had to vent about when almost everyone said that they had mailed their RSVP 2 weeks ago.

Start calling those guests who have not RSVPed yet! You're wedding is literally around the corner and like you said, you still have your seating chart, table numbers, etc. to get done.

I would follow up and ask for individual replies. Oh great you sent it, I am sorry but we still have not gotten it. Would you mind telling me what you replied? How many people?

Hey, Julie. I'm sorry to hear that your guests have been frustrating you.

Don't wait until the weekend; if you have the time to, follow up by phone as soon as you can. They need to understand that there is urgency on your end and that you've been very patient leading up to this point.

    Best of luck!
