RSVP Due Date

Nicole, on January 8, 2020 at 18:08 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 10

How far in advance of your wedding date did you ask for RSVP's to be done?

I've heard 6 - 8 weeks before the date. There are certain items I'm holding off on purchasing until I know how many people are coming and how many tables we will need.

Is May 15 to early for an August 1st wedding?

Thanks!

We did 6 weeks before our wedding, factoring in that our deadline happened to fall on labour day weekend, so the mail was a little delayed. Also some people will mail their RSVP on the deadline day and you won't get it in the mail until later.

I'm also attending a wedding August 15 and the RSVP date is May 15 so I don't think yours is also too early, but you might have to chase down people around your date since it is earlier than usual and some may be "unsure" Smiley amazing

The final RSVP date for us was 1 month before the wedding. I would think that May 15th is a bit early but as a guest I really can't see anybody caring that much about an early deadline. You just may need to track people down for their RSVP's since it might slip their mind because the wedding would be so far away at that point.

My venue needs at least a month notice and factor in calling and emailing people about RSVPs (i would give 2 weeks to chase them all) i would say 8 weeks is perfect so theres no rushing!!

Time frame sounds right to get the final count in order for your venue and vendors.

Like Kelsie said, it mainly has to do with your vendor’s deadline and if you’ll have an A and B list. We’re sending ours out 6 months in advance (we have a couple international ones that need time to get there) that way if any decline we have time to send any out to our B list.

It depends on when your vendors need the number count.

My venue needs it a month in advance (June 18) so I’m having my invites due May 31, to give myself a few weeks to chase people down!
Sending my invites out either last week of Feb or first week of March - depends on when I get them!
