RSVP deadlines - when is yours?

Joey, on March 19, 2019 at 08:09 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 16

When do you need those guests to get their RSVPs back to you? How long before the big day are they due? Have you left yourself a buffer in case you need to chase up errant RSVPs??

Our invites will hopefully go out in Mid July, so looking at an RSVP deadline of August 15-September 1 for our October 19 wedding.

IMO, people shouldn't take more than a month to decide if they are coming or not, but it snail mail might take a while to get to Southern Ontario. I also want plenty of time to make the seating chart - not looking forward to that, track down guests who missed the deadline, and getting numbers to catering.

Ours are due in October 1st for a November 23rd wedding. I wanted to give plenty of time to follow up simply because most people will know by then but I feel like we’re going to have a lot of people to follow up with.

We are sending ours out April 1, and have asked for a RSVP by June 15th, for our wedding on August 3rd. Smiley smile

Ditto! May first deadline and wedding is may 24! Little under a month but should be enough time! I'll start following up end of April!

July 31 deadline for a September 7 wedding. It’ll give us plenty of time to follow up with anyone who hasn’t sent their RSVP, make our seating chart and provide final numbers to our vendors!

4 weeks before. I didn't provide much of a buffer since our RSVPs are online. If they choose not to RSVP then they just won't be included and will be turned away. I can't be bothered to chase people down. Our DIY wedding is already enough work!!

Ours are due June 15, and our wedding is August 4. I wanted to give everyone a buffer zone since I know we’ll be calling people who forgot to RSVP and I know the seating chart will take an eternity.

I've asked for RSVPs to be in by May 1st (our wedding is June 16). I wanted a longer period because I know I will absolutely have to reach out to probably 90% of our guests. Both of our families are the opposite of prompt.

    This coming Saturday!

Sadly, I think I'm going to have about 60% of my guests to contact still. Ugh.

We have put down September 1st, which is a month and a couple days before our wedding to give me enough time to make a seating chart, and chase those that are needed.

I wanted more time because we are also doing menu choices, and I want to get that to the venue as soon as possible

We will be asking that the first wave of invites RSVP in 1 month (from the 6 month mark to the 5 month mark), and then the second wave of invites based on No's from the RSVP's will be sent out mid 4th month to the wedding and asked to get back to us in a month (3 months/ 2 months to the wedding).

Our venue asks that guests book their hotel rooms 2 months in advance so that will be our RSVP date. It seems really early compared to what I've seen but I don't think our guests will have any problems with it. And I like having the extra time.

Ours are due back by April 1st...which is 26 days before the wedding. That gives us about a week to chase the people we haven't heard from. So far we have most of them back...there aren't too many we have to chase. Some of them are the actual wedding party so we know they are coming, we just need to find out what they want to eat.
