rsvp deadline today...

Julie, on February 20, 2019 at 21:42 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 12
We sent out just over 95 Wedding Invitations. We knew many were going to British Columbia and most wouldn't be able to come but we wanted to make sure they knew they are welcome. Today is our RSVP deadline. Unfortunately we have not even received close to half of the RSVPs we need. Now what? We can't make seating charts when we have no idea who is coming. We went to pay balance on florist today but don't know how many centerpieces we need. We are having a professional do place cards, seating charts and table numbers. Within our 12 Person Wedding party, we've received 2 RSVPs... Do we post on Facebook saying we're sending out a friendly reminder that our final numbers are due by a week Friday so please send us your RSVPs. I had one heck of a time finding addresses never mind now needing phone numbers as well! I'd appreciate hearing what you did or would do in our position. Thank you in advance!!!

Thank you everyone! We sure appreciate our Moms offering to help call. Apparently the Wedding Party felt like we know they are coming so they shouldn't have to send an RSVP... anyways, my Mom, FMIL and I are getting together 2morrow to work on a list of People who haven't RSVP'D yet and we are working on homemade favors. Wait till I show you these... I thought in June that I had found the perfect favor which was a way to incorporate my scrapbooking and card making. I had a huge surgery mid Sept and my healing has been much more difficult, painful and time consuming then I could've imagined. I am having a favor helping day at my Parents where our Moms and 2 out of 6 Girls are able to help. I'm hoping we get them very close to finished. There are so many steps. Maybe not the best decision in hindsight lol

I would definitely send out a friendly reminder! Don’t hesitate, everyone gets so busy and they more than likely forgot as consequence. They will most likely reply soon, I hope so anyway. I am going to make sure to send mine good and early and remind them, I also already collected the phone number at the same time as I did the addresses mail and email. I just have two emails I need updated!

We had a similar situation, half of our invitations went to the UK and we didn't receive any RSVPs on our website, we sent a reminder email/facebook message a week before we needed them asking everyone to RSVP, we had a lot of replies to the reminder email and just updated the RSVP list ourselves. we had 2 people that didn't reply until the morning of the RSVP deadline the venue gave us. we ended up sending them messages on FB to say if we didn't receive an RSVP by 11am on that day we would assume a no and they wouldn't be able to come (this was a week before the wedding at least point). I'd say don't be afraid to be firm with the guest who haven't RSVPd, after all, it's delaying planning and paying for your wedding! Sometimes you need to have a Bridezilla moment

How awesome that you have help calling! I bet in the next couple of days you'll have a BUNCH arrive at your door, you may find a lot of your guests put their rsvps in the mail on the due date, rather than accounting for the time they would take to get to you

Thank you Everyone! My Mom and I are going to our venue 2morrow and then I'll start getting numbers. My Mom and FHs Mom have offered to make the calls. We got 8 replies yesterday and we are hoping for another 8 2nite and Friday night! 🤞🤞🤞

    Reach out to them personally.

Our RSVP date is firm, so we're doing reminders 2 weeks in advance.

Anyone who hasn't said they're coming by March 1st, can't come.

To quote my coworker: too bad, so sad.

Unfortunately you will have to call them. Maybe some of them you'll be able to find on Facebook even and reach out to them personally through messages?

That sucks you're going through this! One week till my RSVP deadline and I am still waiting on around 55 people to RSVP, it is frustrating for sure!

I agree with Valérie - CALL THEM!!! I know that you say you don't have their numbers but where there is a will, there is a way! Try emailing/dm/pm etc. for them to call you or request they send their phone number. It's easy for them to put you off when you are over a messaging system rather than on the phone.

With the wedding just about a month away you don't necessarily have time for one more week of waiting, that's why RSVP deadlines are put out.

Hey Julie! Don't worry, people procrastinate and I'm sure the RSVP's are either in the mail or people are just being lazy. You've still got over a month to go until your wedding, so you could give your missing guests a half week, but then you should start calling people.

I'm sorry you're going through this.

If you haven't heard anything from those guests, then you should probably follow up with them. Depending on when you sent the invitations, they might not have gotten it or might've forgotten about RSVPing (happens more than you know!!).

Personally, I would give them a call, see if they got the invitation and request their RSVP on the spot. I would probably use this option with your wedding party, since they're part of the actual event. I understand that this may not be the best option for your out-of-town guests.

If you have all of them on facebook, I'd send them individual messages asking if they got the invitation and to RSVP ASAP (within the next 24-48 hours).

    Hope everything works out!
