rsvp Date Looming....

Amanda, on September 19, 2022 at 08:35 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 10

How/When do you gently nudge those of your guests who have not yet sent back their RSVP's? Our RSVP date is 3 weeks away & is exactly one month prior to our wedding day. I'm waiting to hear back from approx. 7 families. Is it too early to reach out to these guests and confirm that they received their invitations/remind them of the upcoming rsvp date?

We are 7 weeks away from the big day and it feels like we are at a stand still until we hear back from our guests, maybe bridal nerves are setting in but I want to get moving on things like our seating chart cards etc.

Good idea about the social post. We have reached out to the few families we havent heard from since our RSVP date is now 5 days away and basically said "hey we are so excited to celebrate with you next month, our rsvp is arriving super soon and we just wanted to make sure that you have received your invitation and see if you have any questions, cant wait to see you!" type of thing.....still no replies but they have until Monday so we are trying to be patient and wait the last few days out!

I would contact them just to check in and see how things are going and give a oh i noticed you haven't RSVP'd yet and the date is coming up in x days.

i think as long as your nice and respectful a gentle reminder shouldnt ruffle any feathers. i would probably also post it on social media like omg RSVP's are due in 7 days TIME IS FLYING!!!! if you havent gotten yours in already please make sure to get it in by <date 7 days from now>

I did a reminder through the website a week before the deadline. That took care of most of the outstanding RSVPs, but there was one I had to message directly day of. And one couple we never heard from that my FH’s mom had to call directly multiple times and finally got a confirmation a week past the deadline.

Appreciate all the feedback from everyone, I will hold off on connecting with anyone yet & give them another week or so before reaching out Smiley smile our rsvps are physical cards with menu option selections on them and were all sent out with pre stamped/addressed return envelopes.

I sent a reminder to all our guests who hadn't RSVPed one week before the deadline. Then almost all of the guests RSVPed within the next couple days

I had my deadline for Sept 1, and still had a few people that did not respond yet (most we knew were coming but there were a few we needed confirmation from) But I only just finalized my numbers with my venue, so they ultimately had another week to confirm. Unless your venue is needing numbers by your deadline, I would give the remaining time you gave and then start hounding

I always see people freak out when guests don't RSVP right away but since you gave them a specific deadline, you should respect that deadline and the fact that they are not actually late in replying.

If the RSVPs are done online, I would remind them at the one week prior to deadline mark. If the RSVPs need to come in by mail, send a reminder two weeks in advance.

I agree with both Carine and Amanda, I would give a gentle reminder around the 2 week mark before the due date.

We gave our guests a reminder 2 weeks before through Facebook. Once the 2 weeks were over whoever still didn't reply we called them to see what their answer was

7 families, I would just send them a little reminder, and then you should have them in at least a week before you give out your numbers?
