Rings

Jodi, on July 3, 2021 at 17:23 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 11
We are getting married in just 37 days and our weddings rings went missing. They just disappeared. I'm so frustrated and just want to cry. I have no clue what to do. 😭

Yeah, we had left for a weekend and asked her to keep an eye on our house because the lock is broke. And we think she came in and stole them while we were gone.

I was starting to think that. We think my mother inlaw took them.

I'm going to be the cynical one here...have you had anyone other than yourselves in the house since you last saw them? If they disappeared out of thin air my concern would be someone took them..

Have you worn them at all our were they just kept in the box the whole time? If you've worn them, maybe check the bathrooms? My FBIL has dropped his wedding bands down the drain more times than he'd like to admit.

I would also take Christiana's suggestion and get a pair of fresh eyes to help look for them.

If you do need to replace them some stores will offer a fake stand in ring until the real one is made and ready to go if you can’t get replacements in time. Nobody will be able to tell the difference in photos apart from any close up detail shots. But you can just ask your photographer not to do those or if they can take those shots on another day.

Don’t panic. Were you keeping them in a specific place? If you’ve done any cleaning or downsizing lately avoid taking out garbage, recycling, donation bags, etc. Search the area they were kept methodically. Have a clear space somewhere in your house - clean dining table or bed would work. Empty everything from that area until all drawers/bins/cupboards are empty and then put everything back item by item. If you still can’t find them check your garbage, recycling, donation bins. Also check your vacuum if it’s possible they got sucked up.
If you had them in a safe place they should still be around. It’s not like they can walk out of the house on their own.
It might also help to have someone else take a look. We miss things when we’re in a panic or when we’ve been searching for a long time. Sometimes all you need is a fresh set of eyes.

Oiy, that sucks! Did you get insurance on them? If you absolutely can't find them, a month is more than enough time to make a replacement pair.
