Ring shopping

My Fiance got some ideas on an engagement ring from a friend of mine, who I told exactly what I wanted. I also told him a general style of ring I wanted (round, halo). He went on his own and found the perfect one. He fully surprised me with the engagement. I wasn't expecting it so soon. I was giving ideas for 6 more months or so down the line.

We plan on picking out bands together, I'd like one that matches well so I can wear them together.

I actually picked my engagement ring without realizing it. Later I found out that he felt like I loved it so much (I did and do) that he had to get it for me. He snuck back into the store and got it for me while I was off doing something in another store or went to the bathroom or something, lol

Wedding bands, so far we've looked at together. Both online and in a couple of stores. Right now we're just getting a feel for what we like so that we can decide. He likes matching sets, and so do I, but I need a contour band because of my engagement ring so a matching set probably wouldn't work

I wanted a surprise on a holiday so i picked the engagement ring myself with a little texting assistance from her sister. Fiancé gave zero help, had to go by intuition. even the sizing I could wheedle out of her turned out to be wrong! finally found the right one on the 2nd day of looking, decided on Peoples. Very stressful especially deciding how much $$ was too much, what was too little. Wedding rings we picked together which was actually kinda fun.

We went ring shopping before he proposed and I also sent him an obscene amount of links to rings I liked. haha. He went secretly and picked it out. He also picked out a ring that had a matching band that he knew I liked.

He proposed with just the e-ring, and we went back to try different bands, but I ended up going with the one that matches the ring since it fit so perfectly.

For my engagement ring, I had no idea the proposal was coming! Our friend works at Michael Hill and I told her I really liked her ring with twists in the shank. That was the only clue my FH had when he bought my ring! It has a unique shape with the twists so he already knows what wedding band I need.

For his wedding band, I know he wants something more minimalist and I've looked at a few styles, but will take him to buy his so it can get sized properly. Thinking of getting a tungsten ring so once you order, it cannot be sized (from my understanding)

We looked together many times when we "definitely weren't getting engaged yet" (earlier in the relationship, then started looking more seriously. Then it just got to the point of "when he has the money, it's gonna happen"... but the ring he ultimately picked was one I'd never seen before, but similar style to what I wanted. I love it!

Ours is from Spence. I never questioned getting my ring from them, and my FH even went with the Artisan Diamond, which I really like.

My Ring

Engagement ring-wise, I started looking online on my own with the permission of my fiancé after he admitted he was ready to purpose (but needed time to save for a ring). I picked out several options, and he and I chose "the one" together from those options. We went in store and I tried on a similar style, and loved it immediately.

Wedding band-wise, we will be going to try on wedding bands together in the near future to get an idea of what style I'd like to pair with my engagement ring. He's set on a simple, 4-5 mm round rose gold wedding band, similar to what he tried on when he was sized. (My engagement ring is rose gold, and my wedding band will be too).

I had no say in mine at all (I didn't even know a proposal was coming or ever going to happen)! My husband planned and picked everything out and my ring is a custom piece so it means even more to me! I absolutely love what he made/picked!!

FH went to a couple places. He ended up putting money down at peoples for a ring. But they wouldn’t change the centre diamond. So he figured he would take it somewhere else to get a different diamond put in. He wanted to take me to Spence just to check it out. Low and behold that day he got my engagement ring and picked out the matching wedding bad. It was great to get the centre diamond I wanted. And I would have never picked this ring. He slipped it on my finger while walking around the store, and that was it! I fell in love and no other ring seemed to suit my hand. It’s not at all the style I thought I wanted. So I’m glad we both went in together! Our experience with Spence was amazing! So happy we went there

My husband (boyfriend then) wanted to buy an engagement ring and said i considered one given before worth $500 as being engaged.

The only thing we spend on was the bands worth $455 only. Waited to hear on a sale and saved 25% that time. Huband was picky as to what thickness and partucular to mm too.

Through dating when I knew things were more serious I would point rings out that i liked or sent him a couple pics of the style I liked! Really i just really REALLY wanted a ring with 2 sapphires on it (dream ring since I was young) and he found me one that was beyond perfect!! It has the 2 sapphires but the style he chose himself and it's perfect!
The engagement ring came with a matching wedding band so he will get that (I will not see it) and we have been shopping together for his ring! He made sure to get exactly what I wanted and I for sure want to do the same for him!

We initially went to Birks together to get a sense of what I liked. Then I looked at a few other jewellers and found one jeweller I thought was really great and had an amazing selection. I sent him my “research” and he ended up getting it from there.

I actually used to work at a jewellery store so my coworkers and manager helped out my now fiance build me my dream ring and it was perfect! I am so happy!

I sent him so many rings and dragged him into so many stores to show him what i wanted for an engagement ring. He ended up getting me something different but i love it because its a blend of both of our styles. I got to pick the wedding band though. We went together because we do most things together

He proposed to me with a "placeholder" ring (I.e. not the actual engagement ring, but still a very lovely ring and symbol), so I picked out my own ring with a private jeweler and he paid for it. He wanted me to have whatever I wanted.

He bought the ring like 4 months into dating, and didn't tell me, and i had no idea. He then took me ring shopping about 6-7 months into dating and i showed him EXACTLY what I wanted. which was totally different from what he had already bought.

in-between then and proposing he thought about selling the one he had bought and taking the loss in money but buying the one i really wanted. he decided to stick with his gut and keep the ones he picked out.

lucky for him, i liked what he picked a lot more than the one i thought i wanted hahaha

We didn’t go looking together and I didn’t give him ideas for the engagement ring, he did that all on his own but we went shopping for bands together.

We went and looked together and then I went with my family. Since we do long distance he came here to buy the ring and I was there when he bought it and he proposed months later. And for the wedding bands I want a matching ine so we’ll probably buy it together

We went together to look at rings. Because I will have this ring forever he wanted my opinion. We went to several stores, he got my ring from Spence and our wedding bands will be from there as well.

He asked me, but the ring was not suitable for my job so we went and picked one together.

I choose my top three and he bought it in secret and asked me again with the ring that I liked the most.

We also went back and choose his ring to match with mine. I had to get his thickened, due to his job.
