Ring Bearer Question

Tracy, on December 28, 2017 at 19:18 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 9
This might be a weird question, my nephew is going to be our ring bearer. What happens once he walks down the aisle? Does he hold the rings and stand at the front with the guys? Does he hand them to the best man and go sit down? Does he hand my band to the best man and my hubbys band to the maid of honor?

We left our wedding bands in their boxes and our nephews, who were the ring bearers, walked up behind the rest of the wedding party and handed off the appropriate box to the appropriate person (MOH and Best Man). Once they had done that they were going to go sit down but one of our nephews (3 years old) decided he would just stand by my husband for the ceremony lol. It was so cute!

I was thinking the same thing. We are thinking of just letting FHs nephew give the rings to the best man.

OMG!!!! That is hilarious and adorable!!! Makes for a great story, I love it!!!! My niece is going to be my flower girl and she will only be 3 and a half when we get married so I think I'll have her sit with my parents for the ceremony.

Thanks ladies!! I know it's ultimately up to us but my fiance and I were talking about it and my mom and sister said for my nephew to stand with the guys and my fiance said that would be weird. My nephew will be 7 when we get married so he would definitely be able to stand there for the ceremony. Maybe we will just have him give the rings to the best man and then he can stand with the guys so he feels special.

When I was young I was a flower girl...I was expected to stay up front the full ceremony
During said ceremony, I interrupted the entire proceeding to ask the bride to take me to the bathroom HAH! With this experience in mind my flower girl and ring bearer with hand off what they need to and can sit up front with their parents 😂😂😂

How old is he? If he isn't old enough to stand during the whole ceremony, or if you just want to keep things simple, he can carry the rings up to the best man and hand them over to him to keep in a pocket during the ceremony, and then he can go sit with his family.

My ring bearer will stand at the front until I walk down (hopefully) then go sit with his parents. I think he will pass the rings off once he gets up there to the officiant or the best man (maid of honour won't have pockets to hold on to it.

I have also seen it done where the ring bearer sits with parents and comes back up with the rings when it is that time.

Or, my friend didn't even have the ring bearer carry the rings--the best man had them--ring bearer just walked up beside the flower girl with the pillow.
