Revised contract with venue

Sarah, on May 8, 2020 at 13:58 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 10
So I’ve been in touch with the venue and they gave us some alternate dates for next year. We settled on one (yay!). We told the coordinator and she said she’d move everything over for us. Great!

The only thing we can’t sign a revised contract until the venue is open for business and she’s back in the office.
Am I right to feel like our new date is still unofficial until we sign for it? We’re starting to tel people but I don’t feel comfortable sending out “change the dates” quite yet

I mean you have email confirmation that the date is moved. cant they just email a contract for you to review and you can sign and scan it back to them?

Your secures to know the coordinator has ensured your date change and to revise the contract when opened. Your guests can be reassured to know they can change their plans needed for next year.

AS long as you have it in writing (email) you should be ok! I had a second date penciled in with all of my vendors and venue until we had made a final decision about postponing. Since a lot of places were filling up fast.

As long as you have some kind of paper /email trail you should be ok.

I get why you would still feel this way - but like the others said, you have in in "writing" (email) so I would say it's safe to let yourself relax a little and breath!

I’d say you’re fine! Signing something really makes no difference in terms of basic legal enforceability.
