Rescheduling Etiquette?

Julianna, on March 25, 2020 at 10:11 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 4
Hi everyone! I'm sure many of you are in the same boat at this point but we recently chose to reschedule our wedding from May 23rd to August 2nd. We sent out a simple email "save the NEW date" to our guests, but I want to know what other's are doing. Are people sending out new invitations? It seems strange to hold on to invitations that aren't the correct date anymore. What other steps are you taking if you had to change your date?

We will also be spending time eating all of our chocolate wedding favours that will expire in July so I guess it's not all bad.
Hang in there!

Hi! We were getting married May 9th and our invites had already gone out. Once we had made the decision and rescheduled our venue, we sent an email explaining we were postponing and we let everyone know the new date. Asking them to save the new date for us ( email served duo purpose). I also updated our website! Going forward we will be sending new invitations but this time electronically.

The good side to all this happening is your date is moved with the help of your venue. The email sent was smart and easy as you have the same timing and venue to save the cost of reprinting the invitations. I wouldn't do anything else at this time as your guests will make arrangements with their travel agency to change their plans to fly out. The company/vendor you have arranged the packaged chocolates to receive can make them then if you haven't received them yet. Its true to say most couples in this situation have made other arrangements ahead of time to feel secure and safe.

Aaweeee... so our wedding isn’t till Aug.8th (here’s to hoping it will happen). I have yet to send my invites because I don’t know what’s going to happen. So I’m hopefully that it will be cleared up. Our invites were super pricey hence why I’m holding on to them to see where we are. If we have to reschedule, Polka Dot Paper Shop (where we got our invites from) has been amazing and stated they will re do them for us (basically changing part of it) for around $300 ... which is literally not even 1/3 of what we paid for the whole thing and it’s not a markup price.. it’s what it’s going to cost them to re-print the portion with the date on it... therefore it would work for us if we have to reschedule. But if I didn’t have that option... it would be email, text, fb, etc.
