Rehearsal before or after meal

Cindy, on March 25, 2018 at 15:59 Posted in Before the wedding 0 6
My church has requested that I book my rehearsal. I booked it the Thursday before the Saturday wedding. It's at 7:00. Should I ask to change it earlier? Do we eat before or after thd church rehearsal? Just wondering what worked well with others or what others are doing.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to try to move it a little earlier so that my guests aren't starving throughout the practice.

I think 7 is fine. That gives people LOADS of time to get to you from work which is really kind.

I don't think Rehearsals take too long either so you could be eating by 7:30PM. Just keep in mind that people most likely will work on the Friday. Maybe bump it up by half an hour if you can?

We too are having our rehearsal the day before the wedding. The rehearsal is 6-8pm. We will have food set up in the hall in the church so we can do snacks/finger foods before heading out for the night. My girls and I will be going to my parents to sleep and my FH will go to our home for the night.

That should be fine for the rehearsal. are you setting up on the Friday for the wedding? You don’t have to do a supper it’s up to you!

I think either one is fine! The weddings I’ve been involved in we’ve always eaten after the rehearsal but they were on the Friday and then afterwards the bride and groom go separate places for the night and we had separate sleepovers. Except for one wedding I was in we ate after the rehearsal but there was no sleepover we just met up in the morning.

We are doing the rehearsal first, then setting up the hall, then having supper. We are doing our rehearsal at the same time of day as our ceremony will be. And, we don’t have a lot to set up (hall takes care of all the tables) so we still expect to eat at 6.

Any wedding I’Ve been in has always had rehearsal than supper. I like it that way because you do the work then get rewarded with food and have the rest of the evening to relax
