Just tell them that you are thinking about registering at BB&B or Hudson's Bay (even if you aren't) but that you haven't registered yet because by the time items are bought there will be new stock and everything you would have registered for would have come and gone. Heck, I'm registered right now and my Wedding Shower won't be until September (in 3 months, 4 till the wedding) and they told me that some items I scanned will be gone by that time and that I will most likely need to come in closer to the day to scan Fall items instead of the Summer ones that I did!!

I’m registering only for my bridal shower (I’ll take the registry offline afterwards and won’t include one on my wedding invites) and I’m probably going to register shortly and then keep adding things as I see them come up.
