My boyfriend and I got engaged a month ago on my birthday. I’ve been so excited. Bought stuff off marketplace, sales at Michaels, Walmart, and have actually had a dress for awhile.
I would have liked to get married in 2021. I am 49 and this will be my first wedding(his second), so I am very excited. But I would also like to experience all the fun wedding stuff, bachelorette party, having a reception/dance at our wedding with family and friends.
So this weekend we decided we should wait until 2022 and hope covid restrictions are something we won’t have to deal with.It seems forever away. I want to keep planning but it’s like 20 months away so I feel it’s a bit early. I just hope time passes quickly!!!

    Congrats! I feel the same as you: want to get into the excitement of planning and we have decided to do our wedding in 2022 so we can have the 'full experience...hopefully!

    Congrats! I was engaged at the end of 2020 as well (Christmas Day). I'm feeling frustrated with planning during Covid...especially being in Ontario during this lockdown. Let's keep our fingers crossed that 2022 is much different! By the way - I love Michaels sales! Just wait until their spring floral goes on sale - hello bouquets and centrepieces!

    Congrats on your engagement and birthday!

    Its great your getting a head start and looking for to the pre event celebrations before you day when the time comes. WW had amazing tools to use at your fingertips. Checklist is great for all the things you will use and not need based on your ideas of décor, colour and concepts. Budget is also a great tool to set the amount desired. Happy planning!

    Congrats on the engagement. It may feel far away but it comes very quickly. Good thinking on waiting till 2022 as we don’t know yet what 2021 will bring 😥
