I agree. Do not make them until the last minute or they will wilt and look horrible the day of. It will definitely take up a lot of your time. They need to be done the night before the wedding or the morning of which is prime time for relaxing and getting yourself ready for the big day. I honestly wouldn't make them on my own, but that's just my opinion... unless you've had a lot of practice with it and can make them super quick.

Using real flowers to make your own bouquets will take time but it is also something that absolutely has to be done at almost the last minute if you want them to look good for a longer period of time. I opted to not do my own because the time and stress involved in making them versus buying them was not worth it.

My sister-in-law is making my bouquets and she has only done it once before, so I'm sure if you're crafty you can make them. I would suggest buying some fake flowers from the dollar store and making a practice bouquet. That way, when the day comes to make the real ones, you should have a better idea of how much time to expect it to take.

My cousin did her flower arrangements, with real flowers. It's not at all that complicated, if you have some helping hands. The only problem is making sure your flowers stay perky until "showtime". Though my cousin's arrangements were beautiful, they did not stay that way very long.

One way to avoid that would be to make those arrangements with fake flowers. A lot of my friends have opted for faux-flowers at their wedding and we honestly couldn't see the difference until we were touching the leaves!
