Re-schedule Fees

Emma, on May 5, 2021 at 18:38 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 4

Hi folks,

I am curious if anyone else is experiencing re-schedule fees. We are planning to re-schedule for the second time due to COVID. So far all of our vendors have been great. Our photographer is asking for a $450 rescheduling fee. Photography is our biggest expense currently, and this would bring it up to taking 40% of our budget.

Looking for any tips or other experiences.

Talk soon,

Emma

Our venue didn’t charge us a fee, however, our original contract pricing is no longer applicable and we are being charged extra $$ per person. My makeup artist also increased prices.... the answer was due to increased costs.

Does your original contract say anything about rescheduling fees? If it's part of the contract then it's not unreasonable for your photographer to ask for this if they're willing to work your current date and it's not impossible to have due to restrictions.

To put it in perspective, your photographer probably could have easily booked another wedding on your date since so many people rescheduled to this year and a lot of people will go ahead with their weddings. It isn't fair to ask them to move the date with nothing in return especially when so many businesses are struggling to make ends meet. It definitely sucks but from a business perspective I get why some vendors can't be as flexible or accommodating.

But if there isn't anything in the contract you could probably try to negotiate something.
