Re-booking Wedding Cost Increase Help

What a jump of a price for a day that's not even as expensive being Friday.
The question in my mind is weather the venue did put the clause of price increase without notice. This is something to read on the contract in the fine print. I did have something like this happen upon room charges by $10 gone up when signing the contract.
Your venue should be making everyone aware if the date change is to occur, the price change will incur. You feel this is a huge amount to pay for each guest, considered cutting down the guest list? Another venue to choose if this one doesn't work out for you two?

Our venue prices have gone up alot since we first booked with them a year and a half ago. We rescheduled our wedding for next Nay the price increase according to thier new prices is $4500. They let us keep our original pricing and moved our date to 2021. We have to pay 260 bucks more but it is no where near their new prices.


I would for sure contact your venue and ask why they are increasing the price per person and why so much. Thag seems very drastic. Have they since changed thier over all prices for angry new bookings? If they have they should still honor your original price or atleast give you slack since you didnt change your date by your own choice.

I would definitely schedule a call to discuss the contract with them and find out why they have increased above the agreed upon 5%.

That is crazy! I would let yourself calm down (nothing good can come with talking to vendor angry) then have them explain why such an increase not that I think there is any good reason for that. I would be upset too.

I never had this issue. My venue honoured our 2020 price. I would call them out and ask why they increased it so much! It’s not your fault you have to postpone..... this pandemic was unprecedented. The least they can do is stick to the 5% increase that’s on the contract. Which I don’t even think they should increase your price since you got moved to a Friday. Best of luck!!

What a bummer!! Did they give you an explanation for their departure from the 5% rule?
My venue didn’t jack up pricing when we postponed, nor have any of my vendors. I’m definitely thankful for that!
