Pros cons of first look with mother of the bride

How about a dress reveal first look? Like you get your makeup etc done, and then she helps you get ready to a point and then leaves for you to have a moment and maybe do some final touches. Then you can come out of one room, into another, and reveal to your mom etc...?

The only first look I've really thought of was between my fiance and I. My parents have already seen me in my dress, so I dunno...doesn't seem like it would be that special after that lol.

I'm getting ready with my mom and probably doing a first look with my dad, while having my mom with us. Depending on my dad's reaction, my mom might get sentimental too.

I chose to get ready with my Mum with my girls and daughter to make it special for her to be included and get pampered. I will have my photographer snap lots of pics of that process. My first looks will be with my Dad and the my hubby to be right afterwards. If you and your mom are close, I think getting ready together is super special.

Could you have her get ready with you, but not to the end? Then you do a first look of you two when you're both completely ready?

Ahhhhh yes.... I had the same dilemma (I decided to get ready with Mom and do first look with Dad).

Pro getting ready pics: share time, she doesn't get ready alone, she can help put on your dress/veil, all these pics will be special

Pro first look pics: an amazing wow moment - if she gives you that (wouldn't want to have her see you and only smile right? Kind of want tears or something for this dramatic moment), can't really think of much else you have for pro's here though

Overall I would go with getting ready with your Mom > first look pics.
