So all over social media there are people posting their Christmas engagements, and that had me wondering about everyone's proposal stories.

Heres mine: June 18, 2017 at MacGregor Provincial Park in Port Elgin, Ontario. We were camping for our 1 year anniversary, the day before our anniversary he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! He told me he was going to "check on the ice in the car" but really he went and got the ring and when I came out of the tent there he was.

Were you surprised or did you expect it? Did you cry?

Just feeling curious today, hope you will all share!

I never saw it coming. We had gone ring shopping in June 2017 (right before we went to Montreal).
When we got back we had actually found our house and had to put down a deposit. Well he had me believing that he couldn’t afford the ring anymore because of the house.
On our 2 year anniversary 14 October we had agreed no gifts for each other we had to buy something for the house together. I had made him a card and he had forgotten to get me a card told me he was going to go out and get a card. He was gone for 40 min, was a little curious but didn’t put two and two together.
Anyways I come downstairs in my pjs surveying the situation and their was nothing their. Then he tells me that he wanted to get me a card but their was none that he had liked. Then before I new it he gets down on one knee. Complete shock and crying. It took me at least 10 min to say yes.

All these proposal stories are so wonderful!
For me, I kind of knew, because the trip was random (since we never do anything special together), and our anniversary passed already at that point. I also wasn't sure because it was really last minute and he gave me a lot of options, like he was ill prepared. Anyway, he proposed to me on the Farris wheel in front of Niagara falls. Didn't get down on one knee, because no standing in the cart, lol. So he asked me and I laughed and said yes. He was so nervous that he was shaking, lol. He made me take a video of the falls before he asked, so we kinda have a documentation of the moment. He's not a romantic guy, so it was sweet 😌

We had both had a bit of a long day at work (we worked together at the time) so we had just finished eating and we were just sitting on the couch watching the hockey game. During an intermission, he got up (I thought he was going to get a drink or something) and he turned around and got down on one knee, pulled the box out of his pocket, showed me the ring and asked me to marry him. I screamed, and continued to bawl for a solid 5 minutes before I finally caught my breath and was able to answer him.

We had been together for just under 9 years at the time, so I kind of figured it was going to happen... eventually. Haha. We had talked about getting married, and what our lives would be like in the future, but I had no idea! I wasn’t sure he was going to be able to surprise me with the proposal, I thought I would have figured it out or something, but he totally surprised me!

That is absolutely amazing! I'm from England so I love it just that much more!! And I know how you felt with the whole surprise thing. My ring was his grandmother's and after she passed away in March he was given it to propose to me. I found out in May and we had it sized but I was still surprised when he asked me!

Your story is so lovely!!! I'm you'll never forget it! I still get excited thinking about it!
Our engagement was unique before the engagement actually happened, as my fiance let me choose my ring! He knows I pay huge attention to detail and he doesn't! HA! So he wanted me to find a ring I loved!
I was happy because it took me this long to find the right guy and now I would have a ring I loved too, to symbolize all that! Was a win win situation for both of us!
But it was bothering me that if I picked my ring, I wouldn't have the element of surprise so made a deal with my fiance that I would pick 3 rings I love equally, then he would go to the jewellers and pick his favourite out of the 3!!!
I was already so impressed with him and our "not so traditional" ring shopping and planning, that I never thought in a million years, my proposal would have stunned me the way that it did, because I knew it was coming eventually.
My fiancee asked me if I wanted to go to England to see is brothers, in September of last year! I agreed! Thought a family vacation would be nice! Then we arrive and his brothers flew in his parents over from Romania so we could all be together! I honestly thought that THEY were the surprise!
Then on Tuesday, September 6th, in London, England, in front of Buckingham Palace, with his parents and brothers around us (pretending to take pictures), he traditionally got down on one knee and proposed!
It was special, sentimental and real! I was honoured he chose me! Not to mention I was pretty impressed at his confidence to do that in front of his family! What if I said NO! Smiley smile I will never forget that moment!
It was more than anything I ever imagined! Buckingham Palace, I mean really!? I know Queen Elizabeth lives there but I don't even think she can say she was proposed to there! Smiley smile

That is so romantic!!! Sneaky guy..lol Same Same my fiancé...
December 25/2016 -I have an Egg on our tree my mother gave me year's ago that had a butterfly in it, each year he had teased me "One day it will have something shiny in it"
Last year after all the gifts were done being handed out, He stood up and took down the egg.. I didn't think anything of it as ad I had asked for a new pair of earings, so I just said thank you baby, and sent it down for a second to drink my coffee and take my old earings out...lol WELL......
I opened the egg and started to cry, He said..
"This is my promise being kept, Will you be my wife?" And we both cried... We have been together for 11year's.
