Processional Song Length

Allison, on June 24, 2018 at 12:49 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 16

Hi Ladies, what is everyone doing for their processional song?

From my understanding, the bride has her own song while the rest of the wedding party has their own. Most songs are 3-5 minutes long and I don't think it'll take me that long to reach the aisle. Do I just stand there when I get there and wait for the song to end? Do you fade out once you reach the aisle? Or should I try to find shorter songs?

Next time I check out the venue, I'm going to measure it and walk down at a normal pace!

You're right - it is a dance but you just walk to the music!

Base the length of thr song on the aisle. How long is it and how many minutes to walk down editing the songs if chosen to ebd for the bridal party and have your song starting. Fade it out as you won't need the extra time let it finish.

I've practised 20 times and went and measured the distance. I know at what part of the song to the next that a bridesmaid enters, and when I do. It's like a dance! If you know your counts you'll just go... kind of like jumping out of an airplane!

We will definitely be doing a rehearsal, just to see how the speed everyone walks at and to time everything.

We will be fading out for our songs. I’m going to play music during the rehearsal to see if I can time it right that we can fade out at a good time and not mid line.

My Party is not that big, so this might work too! Then you could pick a longer song just to be sure!

Trying to pick out music for any big wedding part (processional, recessional, First Dance, etc) has been very stressful!

We will have a prelude playlist for them which will fade out once the ceremony starts. There will be a pause before the wedding party walk their processional to their song and have a pause when everyone gets into position. Then the bridal procession would start.

Right?! I mean I could be really dramatic and do a dance routine down the aisle, but my FH will probably be thinking: Just hurry up so we can get married! lol

I think a fade out is perfectly fine, if you have your own song.

Will you have a playlist for guests waiting for the ceremony to begin?

When I was a MoH, I created one for the couple, and it allowed guests to get into that wedding vibe while they waited.

I've been thinking about this too. I for suuure dont want to stroll for 5 minutes down an aisle... I might chop out a section of the song that fits and works best!
