Postponing wedding

Shelly, on May 14, 2021 at 17:13 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 7

With all that is going on in this crazy world and right now our province is in complete lockdown with the dates being extended we are debating on postponing our wedding. We have families in 2 provinces and we are not wanting to make anyone feel uncomfortable or not safe to travel to help us celebrate our love. Any suggestion on how to let our families and guest know we are doing this? Our wedding is set for July 1, 2021. We do have "Plan B" and were working on "Plan C" but somehow neither are what we are wanting. Please help with ideas!

We ended up putting together a letter, explaining why we postponed and shared details like website and our emails with phone numbers so they can reach us however is best for them.

Now we sit and wait for time to pass, for all vendors have changed our date and booked.

A postcard is a good way to send the postponement information and update on the website for details. Email those you know will check it and they would pass it on to others if not aware. It helps in ways you may never know and family knowing the information has been forwarded.

Oh I think a card will be good too. You can still direct people to your website and put a longer explanation in there.

Thank you. We were thinking of sending out a card with the new information but a letter might be better for then we could include more of an explanation.

If you can’t reach them via email and most of your guests won’t see your website then I would send an update in the mail or however you sent invites and let them know the situation. And you can say in the letter that any further updates will be posted to your website. That way everyone will know what’s going on and they’ll know to check your website. Otherwise it’ll be a lot of calling on your end of things.

    Hi Hank

We don't have many emails but we do have phone numbers for everyone. And we do have the wedding wire website, however I don't think many go to it. Most of our guest live outside of cities in the country and internet is not top priority.

Did you already collect everyone's emails from invite RSVPs? If so, I'd send them all an email and update the wedding website if you have one.
