Hi all,
A few days ago we decided to postpone our July 11th 2020 wedding due to COVID-19. It was such a hard decision and there were a lot of tears, but ultimately for the health and happiness of our families as well as our vendors, we decided to postpone to 2021. We hated the idea of having to give up certain experiences because of social distancing and that if we did go through with this year, only a couple people could be a part of it. It just wouldn't be the same.
I know July is still far in the future, but the Canadian government expects social distancing and provincial mass gathering restrictions to remain until then. We thought about postponing to September 2020 but figured with everything being so uncertain and to prevent us from having to postpone again, 2021 just felt like a safer bet.
If you're someone who's struggling with this decision my only advice is to weigh your options fully and go with what makes you both most comfortable. At the end of the day it's about the marriage, not the wedding, but it's okay to want both the way you pictured it
