Has anyone (2020/2021) postponed to 2023?

Postponing is possible if you're willing to wait that long to get married. If your concerned about the covid times and shut downs, plan the date to get married instead intimately with close ones. The celebration of choice can be held for later as Anniversary, Vow Renewal, Non-Officiant (by a friend or family member) or Reception with the full guest list.

I wouldn't be so worried about 2022 especially if it's in the summer or fall. I think last year most people just didn't understand or didn't want to believe how long it takes to create, produce, test, approve and distribute vaccines even though every expert out there said we would be lucky to even have one created by early 2021. Fortunately we were very, very, very lucky and we do have several really effective vaccines that will help end this pandemic.

I know this year has been brutal and it seems like this will never end but we are getting closer and closer every day. Everyone in Canada that wants to and can be vaccinated should be fully vaccinated before the end of this year - probably sometime in the fall if everything goes to plan. Many other parts of the world won't be done for a while and not everyone in Canada is going to get the vaccine so covid might be around for a while, but it's not going to be like how things are now. I have been super realistic (bordering on pessimistic) throughout the pandemic, and I truly believe things will be much more normal in 2022.

Based on what we experienced in 2020 and 2021, I am so afraid 2022 will be the same thing all over again. Are any of you a bit afraid of that as well? It's so hard to know what the right decision is when our plans are constantly being thwarted.

I won't be postponing until 2023. I have literally been planning this wedding for 8 years lol. We finally set our first date for Feb 2021 only to postpone to Jan 2022. If Jan is too early we will postpone one last time to May for a afternoon microwedding instead of the full out party.

We want it done and over with at this point. Though with the newest lockdown we have considered postponing to 2024 and just having a wedding as our 10 year anniversary.

Not sure about members here but I've seen some have on FB group discussions. The ones that do tend to be older couples who are not in a rush to get married or are not using marriage as a next step for their life stages. People also tend to consider it if it's their first postponement. Myself and many others here have already postponed at least once and the general vibe I get is we just want to get it over and done with.
