Planning while pregnant

Caitlin, on January 7, 2020 at 13:28 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 10
Any other 2020 brides planning while pregnant? We found out we're expecting back in December, exactly one year from our wedding date of 12/12/2020!

Did it change your plans at all? Or did you just keep planning as you were?
I'll be due end of August/beginning of September and I'm having a hard time deciding what to do! Any advice from others?

My fiancé and I just found out we are expecting and we had planned out wedding for September 2021. We are pushing the wedding to March of next year. I have a few vendors already booked which helps and my dress is bought with no alterations done yet so I can always alter it after. I’ll just be planning the smaller things while on mat leave. If anyone has any tips let’s us pregnant brides know😀

Congrats! I haven’t done this but already having two kids I would say try to get as much done as possible before baby comes. Book vendors (cake, hair, makeup, officiant, flowers), find your dress, order invitations, book the venue, decide on the wedding party and go with them to pick out their outfits. If you’re feeling ambitious try to get some DIY decor out of the way as well. Good luck!

I was pregnant while planning my wedding for this June...I actually pushed my date for the following year.
I find it difficult now trying to get things done with a baby... shes now 9 months old and 6 months away from the big day!
I would suggest to get alot of your vendors now! The sooner you can book your vendors the better.... I did all my planning during the last few months of pregnancy and the first 3 months of my daughters arrival. It's now cruch time but I'm sure it will all work out. Good luck! And if you have any questions ask!!

Double congrats!! if you can manage both i would continue planning. but if its too hard you can always push your wedding date a bit. as long as its far enough in advance im sure your venue wont mind

    Congrats!

Its exciting to hear your news and looking forward to starting a family while your planning to get married too.

Budgeting for 2 events is huge and not easy as expected. Planning does change everything as it does divide the money into 2 accounts that will go towards each way. I

It may help to ask family or family for some décor you could use or borrow to help cut costs down on your end and looking into rentals does have a huge impact too for savings.

2020 is going to be one heck of a wonderful year for you! Congratulations!

Depending on the type of dress you have, and how you feel after I would make appointments with a seamstress about 1.5 and 1 month before the wedding so you can have any alterations taken care of with a little time to spare in case your body changes again in the weeks before your wedding.
And Britt makes a great point, have a person (or a team!) you can trust to take care of your little one while you're busy being the center of attention!

At least you kind of know what to expect with a baby (although my second was completely different then my first & was colicky for 10m ☹️). If you have tons of help from family & friends I'm sure it'll go smoothly. Hopefully others will have better advice. Good luck 🙂

Unfortunately I already have my dress, haha. Yeah this is my second kid, my oldest is 5. That's my thinking, infants are exhausting and demanding. Partly why I was asking for others who've done the same to give some tips. We shall see how it goes.

Lots of people have done this, personally for me I didn't want to. Ive had 2 babies since getting engaged. It all depends on how you want things done. Definitely doable. My advice is get a dress that can be easily altered &/or one that really flatters your stomach. It is possible for you to loose most of the weight in that time, but don't expect it to, you don't want that added stress. Also make sure to have a close family member or someone you really trust to help with baby, as you're going to be so busy that day & baby will still be young that they'll need lots of attention that you won't be able to give.

    Good luck & congrats!!!
