CONGrATS!!!!!!!!!!!! first start by making a rough guest list and then contact venues and ask what they have available and then find a church or officiant, then get a dress, suit, decor, bouquet, cake, DJ , invitations and youre all set!

    Congrats on your engagement!

Wedding planning timeline is available to know what needs to be done at certain months or planning book/binder to budget/actual cost. WW Checklist is a great way to also take off the task done and anything else you want to get done.

The choices of rental vs. purchase may make a huge difference upon the costs and space saving at home.

Hey! Congrats on your engagement. Hank and Amelia have already outlined the crucial “starting points” for planning. I would add this. When determining your budget, figure out exactly who is contributing and how much. If you and your fiancé are shouldering the entire cost yourselves this may be fairly straightforward. But if family members have expressed an interest in helping out, you need to confirm exactly how much they’re comfortable spending.

    Good luck!

Adding to what Hank has said:

Put together a rough guest list. Knowing how many people you want to come can dictate what venue you pick, for example you don't always need a grand ballroom that seats 250 if you're only inviting 75. The guest list can also affect the costs, especially food costs, so knowing roughly how many people you want to invite can help you form the budget too.
My fiance and I sat down and decided what what most important to each of us (photos for me, small guest list for him) and that helped us with a jumping off point.

    Let's start with these:

-When do you want to get married? As in what year and what day of the week.

-What's your budget? This determines almost everything. You and your partner should narrow down a dollar amount that you're comfortable parting with that won't bring any financial difficulties to your future. Is this a number you already have in your bank or do you need to save? Does the timeline to your proposed wedding date above allow you to do so based on your jobs?

-What type of venue do you want? Outdoor, indoor, traditional, non-traditional.

Once you have these three things determined, you can start diving into the intricacies like food service, decor, add-ons, etc.
