It's kind both, my Dj is also a pianist and her partner is the vocalist so they will be live music for cocktail hour, 1st dance and father/mother daugther/son dance. Then Dj for the rest of the party.

DJ! I've heard some good live bands but I prefer the DJ, no breaks involved.

None. We'll just hook up a phone or laptop to a speaker and play our own music ☺

My fiancee would absolutely love a band, but I think DJ would be the cheaper option

DJ. I am not a huge fan of live bands at weddings. When I am dancing I want to dance to the actual song. And we may also need to use our DJ as our MC as we cannot agree on who to ask.

Probably a DJ. We are also considering just having a friend run the music; he has done it before.

Both. The Dj we hired has his own live band during cocktail hour and he will DJ after dinner

DJ. We found a great wedding dj company and they will be doing the music for both our ceremony and reception. I like the idea of a band but I have been to too many weddings where the band was awful, and no one was dancing. Also, having a DJ guarantees that you will have the songs you want, played exactly as we know because it is recorded!

DJ for sure. I go to concerts for big bands but I'm not the biggest fan of live music otherwise.

Neither! We are making our own playlist and hooking it up to speakers. And I'm hoping my brother might play the ceremony music for us.

We have both live music and a DJ. The classical guitarist will play at the ceremony and the cocktail hour. We have a singer also for the ceremony only. The DJ will begin when the guitarist leaves and play dinner music first. Later there will be dance music. He's doubling as MC as well, and will provide lighting for the dancing, so that was a bonus. I had an interview with him and was comfortable hiring him, and it only cost $240.00 for 3 hours. If the party keeps going (it's a Sunday evening) we'll add another hour to his gig.

We are having a DJ. We really did our research with this one. We have been to some weddings where the DJ wasn't great and didn't really get the crowd dancing. On the flip side we have been to weddings where the DJ was incredible and totally set the vibe for the whole night. We had an almost 2 hour phone interview with the DJ we ended up going with. He is awesome and has fantastic reviews. I am really excited to work with him.

Definitely a dj! We went with a dj for our wedding and it was great. People were up and dancing and having a great time which is what we wanted.

If I had a bigger budget I would definitely go band. They bring so much energy to an event.
