Sarah, on April 15, 2022 at 13:51 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 19

What is everyone finding in terms of cost for photography? average pricing. Got quoted $1900 and it includes (getting ready, ceremony, photo session, reception but dinner only).

Newly married on April 29th! We paid $4000 before taxes for two shooters for eight hours and it was beyond worth it - If you're going to splurge on anything, splurge on photos. It's true what they say, the entire day goes by in a blur for the bride and groom so trust me, you want some awesome shots to look back on. I already look at our preview photos in awe - They feel like we're in a magazine and it's hard to choose a favourite!

Side note: Biggest recommendation is not to do less than eight hours if you can afford to have more hours in the budget - Unless you have a very short wedding. We had originally booked six hours and I'm SO glad we added two more hours right before the wedding. The six definitely would not have been enough and I can't even begin to imagine how rushed we would have felt with two less hours - It was hard enough to get everything into eight, and even then, we had to go without some shots.

We have paid about $2000 for ours. That gave us 8 hours coverage so it includes getting ready, the ceremony and at least part of the reception in addition to the formal portraits after the ceremony. We also get 2 photographers (husband & wife team), engagement session, and professional editing/downloads of photos.

I find that sounds like a pretty good quote also! Smiley smile
My only suggestion would be to make sure that the time they offer allows for the coverage of all the things that are really important to you. For example, if you're planning to do the cutting of the cake, then it would be sad for your photographer to time-out and leave before you have the chance to do that.

Some photographers have overtime fees, so I would suggest looking into that Smiley smile

I'm paying $3500 for photography - a team of 2 for 8 hours. I was willing to splurge on photography more than anything else!

My photographer quoted $1500 for 2 photographers and 8 hours (keep in mind she is also a family friend), so feel like I lucked out. It is also a good way to give exposure to their talents and support their business.

    Sounds like a great quote!

We are getting one photographer (8 hrs) for $2000 this coming summer!

Don't forget to go through "what matters the most for you" with your photographer prior to the big day! a reminder for myself too, cuz we only have 1 photographer, he has to capture the moments for us. Smiley smile

That's a great price! Photography was my fiancé's highest priority so we splurged and got two photographers for 12 hours for $2800. Thank goodness they are local and don't need travel fees!

Your price quoted isn't bad and a fair one too from what we paid for everything with our photographer for $1300 in 2017. I know most photographers would raise their prices drastically during the covid years.

That seems to be on a lower end from what I have seen. But definitely a great deal!

I was quoted between $1000 and $5000 and all depends on the amount of time.

We lucked out finding a "newer to weddings" photographer so we snagged a deal of $1000 for full day (and even so - she has since raised her prices since we booked), but when I asked my bestie what she paid (back in 2018) it was around $2k but no get ready shots (so she probably paid for 6 or 7 hours)

That sounds like 6-8 hours? That's a great price. Everyone we liked (style wise) was 4k+ for 8 hours and we thought we needed 12. We ended up finding the perfect duo who were positive they only needed 11 hours for what we wanted (tail end of getting ready until midnight countdown) and totalled just under 4k including a engagement shoot. This was locked in in 2019.

When I was looking for our photographer the majority of ones we reached out to were in the $**** range. We lucked out and found a newer photograher for $1200 and her work is amazing!

It depends what’s included ie: engagement shoot; photos in an album or USB; how many shooters and how many hours. We are paying $1500 for 500 photos professional retouched on USB, 2 shooters and 8 hours (2-10)

When I was looking all I could find for the kind of photography I liked was a 3000 minimum, so my grandma suggested her friends son who is trying to build his portfolio. He gave us a discount and we are paying 1300 for engagement photos, videographer and they are hired for 10am to 9pm

I don’t think 1900 is too bad ! That’s pretty good in my opinion!
