Photobooths: In or Out?

Lynnie, on February 18, 2019 at 10:35 Posted in Wedding reception 0 30

Are photobooths just a phase, or do you think they're a new reception staple?

Do you think the photobooth trend in or out?

I think the whole Photobooth thing is so out. It's overdone, and honestly it's kind of gross having people wearing the same props lol.

Out! Not something I do dress up or use props for pictures. Spontaneous group pictures are better than having that extra cost of photobooth/props rental. Photographers are the reason for the cost of having their services catered to you.

I used to think photobooths are fun, but my FH is adamant about not having them bc they remind him too much of office parties.

I can't not think of that now, so they're out for me.

I’d say out, I think they were definitely huge a few years ago but now they’re kinda eh, also they’re super expensive. I won 40% off from a bridal show and still didn’t go for it because it was gonna be so expensive.

I'm torn on this one! I'd say they're past "peak trend time" when they were the must have item for your reception, but they're still super fun! Whenever I go to a wedding I still see everyone's parents going nuts for them - and I've kept some really cute photo strips! Smiley heart

I'd say out...despite the fact that we wanted one at our wedding (too expensive)

I have never actually been to a wedding that had one, though they do seem like fun. We are doing a sort of 'do it yourself' photobooth...we got a selfie stick off of ebay and a bunch of props. I figure it will give the guests something to do during cocktail hour if they want.

I’m going to say out. They remind me more of a prom or something rather than a wedding. It’s just a bit too cheesy for me personally.

Out- I think they used to be fun and now they are overused to the point it is expected. And they are super expensive!

I like it as a keep sake, I won't be having one at my wedding though. Its an option choice that is a nice touch

Out - I'm tired of that trend and not just at weddings (work functions, fundraisers, NYE parties).

We're having a booth. It's a bus that will be parked outside. I think they're awesome and so fun.. unlimited pictures for all our guests.

I am sad to see so many people hating on them. We are not doing a traditional booth, we will have props and people can use there phones. My family always has so much fun with them so I am excited.

Out! I have been to 2 weddings that had them. Yes they were fun after some drinks, but I don’t think I would spend the money to have one at my wedding

A bit of both. The traditional photobooth isn't very wedding if you ask me and I'd never pay the ridiculous amount they charge! But we are having a polaroid camera "photo booth", guest can take their pictures, leave a note and we can take a look at it later on!

Out. They look fun, but I feel like couples could invest more into their photographer for better quality images (and still use props!)

I say out. I think they’re kind of overdone now and I haven’t seen them get used to much at the weddings I’ve went to.

Depends on the crowd for sure. If it doesnt get used, it seems a bit silly. Plus, I think they're starting to get a bit overdone...

I think they’re fun, if people actually use them. we won’t be having one at our wedding, but i still think they’re very popular and will likely stay that way for a while
