Photo booth?

Kristi, on October 6, 2018 at 23:36 Posted in Wedding reception 0 8

My fiancé and I are looking at booking a photo booth for our wedding and are just wondering on people's thoughts/preference for a traditional "booth" or "open-air". Also wondering what others think regarding the timeline (how long you have hired your photo booth for), as well as when during your day you had the booth open? Thanks in advance for everyone's input! Smiley smile

I think the traditional booths are nicer since people can really act silly and whatnot if it’s more private. However, open-air does provide the opportunity for other guests to “crash” peoples photos. So it’s just what you prefer really lol.

Yes for sure! I also have found that the open air is a little cheaper! I think that drinks help for sure, people are bound to get a bit sillier!

That's exactly what I was thinking! I also thought that booze might loosen people up by then and that people might use it more!

I’m getting a photo bokth and was also debating which one to choose and decided I’m doing the open air one so it can fit more people. I’m having mine for 4hours during the reception

I prefer the open space as opposed to a booth! And if it comes with an attendant they will make sure everyone in the open space makes it into the photo! I plan to have mine from 8-11 PM, 3 hour service after all the speeches are done and people have a few drinks in them hahah!

We didn’t have a photo booth but I have attended weddings where they had them but all different.

One had the photo booth between the ceremony and reception. They were at the same location, and out of town so most guests stayed on site for the three hour break. It was nice to have something to do. This one was an open air one. The sister of the groom was taking the pictures so it meant larger groups were easily accommodated and smaller ones were taken closer up.

I was at a wedding that was more booth style. They had theirs during dinner and for about the first hour of the dance. They also had cocktail hour an hour before the reception in the reception hall so the booth was available then as well. I would say this was a little long as most people only went a couple times.

My cousin just had a reception (ceremony was destination wedding) and they had it for five hours, which was the minimum for their city. I think most places have a lower minimum though.

So, with that as my experience, I liked it during cocktail hour/ before reception as during dinner most people prefer to eat and speeches usually start. Once the dance starts, most people are interested in that. I also preferred the open air one because it allowed for a slight change in scenery with each person (or even just a different angle with smaller spaces.
