Phantom Rsvps: no one sent them

Monique, on April 13, 2019 at 23:35 Posted in Tech support 0 7
So I got notifications about people rsvping, which I thought was strange because we haven't sent out invitations. I sent a message to my friend who's getting married this year and had weddingwire, to see if she had RSVPd. She tells me that she hasn't RSVPd because she didn't know if she was even invited! Can someone help me figure out what's happening?

    Hi again Monique!

The only way to fully remove your wedding website is by deleting your account with us. If you don't want to do that, you can just remove the pages from your site! You would be required to leave at least one page, but you can use the Pages tab in the website builder to make that page Private, so no one can see it even if they do happen to find your site.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks everyone for the help! Is it possible to delete the wedding website? We’re not using it so I don’t see the point

Hi Monique! I'd recommend you set up password protection for your wedding website. You can provide the password to your guests when you send them invitations, whether by mail or electronically! That way, you know only your invited guests are accessing your site.

You can turn on password protection from within your website editor, in the Settings tab!

Hey Monique, are you doing online RSVPs or having your guests send you their RSVP card back? If you're doing online, you could have an access code attached so that only your guests can actually RSVP for your wedding. Otherwise I think you might be in a bit if a difficult situation.

    Best of luck!

It's weird because legit anyone who can find your website can technically go in and RSVP for who ever they want. I keep trusting people will be honest but after rsvps are all gathered I plan to double check with most people just in case! I've had one friend RSVP and then later tell me they need to cancel. Once you accept or decline you cant go back in an change it so I had to manually do it myself!
