Pets and Weddings

Hi everyone -

I am so excited for my wedding but I can't help but worry about my little furry son. I want to include him but I know people will be running around and we will be too busy to transport him around. I don't want to leave him at home alone (obviously) but I'm having trouble finding someone that can board him overnight AND bring him to the pictures+ceremony. We usually leave him with someone we know, however, everyone will be at our wedding that day.

Any ideas or recommendations of services that provide that? I've looked into Rover, however, it's hard to find someone that is willing to drive around the whole day (understandable).

Help, please!

What about a neighbour? a co-worker? is there anyone you speak with that is not invited to your wedding?

I did a quick google search, what about this company? You might need to find boarding elsewhere if they only handle the travel - but that might work! https://torontodogwalking.com/wedding-service/

Are there any boarding places that are advertised at local wedding shows? I know that at the Wonderful Wedding Show here in Winnipeg there was a couple boarding places that had booths and one of them does exactly that - will drop your pet off at your wedding and pick them up too!

I was going to suggest Rover.com but I see you've tried there.
Perhaps contact some on rover and indicate you will pay a premium for having them play doggie chauffeur for the day. It may be that the typical daily fee just isn't enough to cover the extras.

Pet sitting at home possible requested by someone you know that declined or just wanting to do it as a favour. Its tough to leave our loved furry ones at home knowing they are alone and lonely. Kennels may be an alternative as suggested that is nearby to you or on the way to the venue. Inquire about pricing and food to see if you need to take yours there.

Are they kennel trained? You might be able to find a quiet spot at your venue to tuck their kennel into so it's like a home away from home.
Assigning a few friends or relatives who can keep an eye on him and give him some attention and exercise throughout the day is also a good idea.

Do you have a close friend or family member that's not in the wedding party that would be willing to take the responsibility? It's a lot to ask, but people are willing to help out more than you think especially where weddings are concerned. Our fur baby will be our ring bearer, and while we'll have him in some of the wedding photos I've asked one of my cousins that my dog loves (and the feeling is mutualXD ) to look after him when we can't. I couldn't imagine leaving him with a stranger or at home all day, so I that's why I asked someone that I trust and that my dog knows well so he'll be comforted throughout the day no matter what.
