Pearls or locket, diamonds or amethyst?

Paige, on January 9, 2019 at 14:09 Posted in Wedding fashion 0 14

Hi ladies! I’m struggling with picking my wedding jewellery. I have a few options to try and decide between.

Purchase $100 amethyst earrings to match my ring, or wear my mother in laws diamond earrings. I think I’m leaning toward the diamonds as my something borrowed but can’t quite decide especially with my necklace options.

I have a pearl necklace from my great grandma that she gave me as a kid specifically to wear on my wedding day. However it doesn’t quite suit the neckline of my dress. My thought if I don’t wear it is to either use as a bracelet, or wrap around my bouquet.

My other option is to purchase a $60 heart locket because the longer necklace suits my dress neckline more and I’ve always wanted a locket. As you can see in the pictures the necklace I’m wearing is a great length. (Note that the piece of lace in the middle was just to show what I could do to raise the neckline, I didn’t like how low it was and also that the dress is still 2 sizes too big oh and that you can totally see the corset I’m wearing, I won’t be wearing it on wedding day)

A) Amethyst earrings + pearl necklace

B) diamond earrings + pearl necklace

C) amethyst earrings + locket

D) diamond earrings + locket

Diamond earrings and if you're adding the lace-no necklace, it doesn't quite work.

I don't think you need necklace. I would say diamond earrings and use your Grandma's pearl necklace as accessories on your hair. Depends on the hairstyle you are planning to do, the necklace could be coil up to make a rose, just need to attach hair pin to it, or if you have long braid half up half down, the necklace could wrap around the braids.

Diamond earrings, no necklace. I think the necklace will take away from your dress Smiley smile

In that case I would skip the necklace and just do earrings - for me as much as I would want to have matching earrings, I am too cheap to buy them so I would say to go for the diamond ones 😂

Oohhhh. without that floral point changes it up.

i wouldn't do anything on a necklace. i would have simple chain. or a lil rhinestone strand necklace (to look similar to the earrings). my aunt brought up a good point to me that if she could go back, she would have not worn a necklace (hers had a drop on it) and she said a lot of photos the necklace was skewed/crooked (this was also 23 years ago and not digital editing)

I should also point out this is a VERY casual, low key backyard brunch wedding so I feel like statement earrings might be a bit much.

Well now I’m even more stumped lol 😂. I do see the no necklace point. Keeping in mind that that is NOT the way the dress will be once finished but would still have a tiny bit of purple in the middle making it not a v neck. But the diamond earrings she offered me are tiny little studs. I’ll have my hair half up, half down and really don’t like dangly earrings so studs are for sure. But tiny studs or try and find some sort of statement earrings 🤔.

I agree with this. I think wrapping the pearls around your bouquet is a beautiful idea. I also think statement earrings would be great. I would skip the necklace with your dress

So I would actually do the diamond earrings and no necklace at all. I think your dress has enough happening up top that you don't need a necklace. And then wrap the pearl necklace around your bouquet.

I agree - No necklace was the first thing I thought of, and statement earrings.

I like the diamond earrings with the locket and think the idea of wrapping your Grandmother's pearls around your bouquet is very special.

That won’t actually be there but I do see your point. In its place I’ll acthally probably have a small bit of purple just to hide everything a little more. I also should note I’ll have a purple ribbon or belt somewhere on it as well. So I’m definitely feeling the diamonds but you really think no necklace eh? Hmmmm 🤔

With that lil floraly insert on the dress. i would go with the borrowed diamond earrings and no necklace.

and then take g-mas pearls and wrap them around your bouquet handle.
