Parkwood Estate

Natalie, on November 5, 2019 at 08:04 Posted in Plan a wedding 0 7

Has anyone gotten married at Parkwood Estate? I'm absolutely in love with the mansion and the gardens.
But they are not as commercial as your regular wedding venue, so the whole process is more bespoke and customized. The coordinator seems great, but needs a week to put everything together...so I'm still clueless when it comes to cost and entire process. Reviews are either old or not very detailed. Anyone ever had or attended a wedding there and can share some insight?

The venue itself. Wedding wire has discounted pricing as helpful to us as members.

    Hi Vinod,

You noted this is pricey, are you referring to the rates listed on wedding wire?

One thing that is special about this venue is that everything is barebone, so literally everything from food, furniture, tent, lighting needs to be brought in.
I've been doing a lot of research on this stuff, the only piece I think is a huge variable is the labour...so I'm really nervous when the proposal comes in.

I do really like how instead of sending you a package, she asks you what your dream wedding looks like, asks for pictures, your wishlist vs must haves. She then tries to connect with the vendors that the venue works with that makes the most sense based on your needs.
I really appreciate that more personal approach. I didn't just feel like someone else's commission or quota to fill, it feels like she really cares.
But this week long process is unbearable! (And also hindering my decision towards other venues). I'm just hoping this white glove service won't come with too high of a cost.

The venue is gorgeous itself yet pricey. The best way to let the coordinator know what is required for the day is by creating a spreadsheet. Colour choices leading to backdrop w/lighting option, décor/centerpieces with flowers (optional), Head Table or Sweetheart table swag material white with coloured table cover, etc.

This would help with what your vision is and how to let your coordinator put a few samples together to see. Get prices according to what you want to know from the venue and get the room that fits your budget along with food and alcohol.

This is the same process I went through to figure out which venue was giving the best deal and what price range was at my range.

I haven't been there but it looks gorgeous! I found this link which appears to outline their pricing for room rentals. Parkwood Estate

Your food and alcohol cost isn't included in that. The venue is outside of Toronto so it shouldn't be as pricey, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's anywhere from $100/plate to $200/plate depending on what food they have available for service.

When we went to our reception venue, she provided us with a price sheet during our meeting. Our room rental itself was $2500 I think for a room that can hold 400 with a dance floor.

If you're concerned about cost, you could ask for an estimate. She could ball park it for you i'm sure.
