Parent Dances? Keep or Cancel?

So torn on this one! We're not having a typical reception but I might slip one of my dad's favorite songs in so I can steal a dance. I also don't think my fiance wants to have the spotlight on him for a mother son dance.

Keep! It's something I feel super awkward about, BUT know it will mean the world to my Dad.

Keep we're really close to our parents and I couldn't imagine missing out on this tradition

Keep! My dad is so excited to have a dance and we chose a song from my childhood that was our song.

Keep! My dad & I are dancing to a cover of November Rain by Guns & Roses (it was on the radio when my dad was driving to the hospital when my mom was in labor with me). My fiancé hasn’t picked a song yet for his mother-son dance yet, too many good ones to chose from ☺️

Keep. My father is SO IMPORTANT TO ME and I think this is something that will really mean a lot to both of us.
Meanwhile, I am SHOCKED that my fiance's mother wanted to do a dance.

I think we're cancelling. Not because we don't like them, but because FH was already apprehensive about being in the spotlight like that with his mom and then he found out that my father isn't even invited so now he's basically like "well if you're skipping it so am I" lol. Now we're going to talk to our party members about doing a group choreographed swing dance to Nothin' to Lose by Josh Gracin. We've got 3+ years to practice so hopefully we can nail it!

Keep! I think it's cute.

I wanted to cancel it, but my mom got insulted. So.... keep. But we're the only parent dance.

Keep. I think our parents would be really sad if we didn't keep them - his mom for sure. And I've got my dad thinking of songs

Cancel. Neither of my parents will be there. I haven't talked to FH about it yet, but I'm thinking of dancing with his dad while he does the Mother-Son dance. It wouldn't quite be a Father-Daughter dance, but it would still help show how important FFIL is to us.

Keep! These are things that are a lot more meaningful so it's worth keeping them.

Keep. We actually left this up to our parents if they wanted to do it or not. Unsurprisingly, my dad wanted to do the dance (which is great because I really wanted to!), and, very surprisingly, my FH's mom wanted to as well. He figured she wouldn't want to, but people can surprise you. :-)

Cancel- I hate dancing, let alone everyone staring at me while I dance.

Kept, but we decided to combine them under one song.
Halfway through the song, my father-in-law and my mom decided to join us and danced together, which I thought was great.

I'm personally a cancel, but my dad wanted a dance, so I'm keeping! FH and his mom don't talk so he won't do this.

I might be having a mother daughter dance since my father has mobility issues and likely won't be on the dance floor at all

We are keeping these I think they are sweet.

We're definitely keeping the father daughter dance. I'm not sure about the mother son dance. My FH had a big argument with his mom this summer and hasn't talked to her in a couple months. It basically came out that she doesn't like me. Which I kind of had that feeling for the past couple of years but it still sucked to find out for sure.

We are doing a father daughter dance. But I dont think we will do mother son because his step mom wouldn't want the spotlight.

Cancel. My FH's mother has mobility issues and would not like to be center of attention like that. I'm sure he will dance with her but less attention when they do. Im not inviting my father to wedding so that one is out.

Keep! Can't wait for the Father/Daughter dance!
