Outdoor Ceremony Locations - 200 people

Alyssa, on February 6, 2020 at 13:58 Posted in Wedding ceremony 0 8

I have always dreamt of an outside, 20 minute, non-religous cermoeny, but cannot find any that can accomodate our guestlist of over 200 people in or around Edmonont, AB! Please provide some suggestions.

Yeah we looked into it. The outside ceremony can hold 180 and we are actually looking at close to 250 now! It is beautiful though!

Are you looking for a reception space as well? We got married at La Cite Francophone. The ceremony space was free when booking the reception hall, so not sure if it would be available for ceremony only. It might be a little tight for 200 people in the courtyard--I don't remember how many they said they would fit outside. And if it rains, the indoor space would be too small but the hall can accommodate that many. They didn't reply to my emails at first, but were great by phone and email once we met them. The food is amazing!

Definitely drive around to some of the parks (especially if one is close by). So many beautiful parks around this area! I'm personally getting married in a park in Leduc that is right beside my house. Or contact the city of Edmonton parks, they may have suggestions that you could take a look at

Do you know anyone who has farm land around?? Or even look online for farm land for rent they may let you rent it for the day??
My fiancé scored us a beautiful 3 acre for our whole wedding free of charge (we help on their farm year round) because it’s a family friends land!

Venues can seat for weddings based on the halls. There must be something available for what you need based on your guest list. Search on the internet and look at reviews to know if the hall is what you like and fits your guest count

Take a drive in the area where your reception venue is and then look for nice park spaces around there so guests wont have to travel far

What about the University of Alberta Botanic Garden? I did a quick search to see if there were any farm/winer/park venues in Edmonton that would accomodate 200 and this one on wedding wire says their head count is for 2 - 250.
