Our June Wedding Maybe Turns into October?

Jamie, on February 7, 2021 at 12:38 Posted in Ontario 0 8
So we are probably going to go ahead and postpone our wedding. I cant imagine our wedding with restrictions like no dancing or no drinks after 10pm or not being able to hug my Aunts and Uncles. We are feeling like maybe just maybe October might be ok?? Anyone wanna share their thoughts??

    Hi All!

    We picked our date a year ago, before the full true insanity of COVID began to rear it's ugly head.

    When we picked our date we had already talked about what was REALLY important to the TWO of US. Since we were already on the same page it made things easier for us.

    We are Outside on a Beach for the Wedding;

    Limited our numbers for the Outdoor Ceremony to approx 40 - 60 People - these are our dearest friends and family;

    Have our Dinner Outside - BBQ (we are country - Farmers) - Limited to Immediate Family ONLY - between 22 - 30 people;

    Our Reception is also outside - with a tent for the Band and some "Boxed Lunch" evening food, with this being an open invitation to our friends and family HOWEVER with it being outside, it will allow the folks to social distance and come and go as they please and YES allow EVERYONE to come and visit with us on our Special Day at intervals...

    We chose the end of September - and we're sticking with it, come hell or high water!

    What's important is it's your day, think outside the box!

    K

    We are waiting for October hoping the restrictions are more lax if the government predictions are right and June vaccinations should be given out at the rate that people will have more freedoms to go out October should have places going closer to normal capacity

    I just went through the exact same thing for what seems to be the same reasonsSmiley smile we decided to postpone to May 2022 only for the reason we want to give everyone a chance to get vaccinated and feel comfortable attending the wedding. For us it wasn’t necessarily about the party (even tho it would be so much fun to be able got dance the night away) it was about being able to hug and mingle with all our guest without feeling bad or anxious Smiley smile

    I think you will be OK but at a smaller capacity. Maybe 100 people. People are forgetting that Doug Ford is in charge of these restrictions. He wants the economy opened up and restrictions lifted. Things are going to look different this fall, I know it. Maybe I’m just being hopeful because I’ll be married in November regardless what the wedding looks like, but I do think there is going to be an effort from the government to make it appear that “Covid is over” once the vaccines are distributed. Then it’ll come down to your own judgement in size. Hang in there! Good luck!

    We just decided the same. We were supposed to be June 2021, and have resigned ourselves to just leaving it a year and stop fretting.

    We decided to postpone a year to June 2022. It really sucks but hopefully vaccines will be fully distributed by then

    Jamie, I cannot imagine not hugging or dancing with my family and friends!! I really want to have my June wedding but am unsure this will happen. I want to post pone too but am unsure of what to do. Every day is soooooo different. Did you post pone your wedding to October or to 2022? What made you make the decision?

    I honestly doubt those restrictions will be gone by October. What people need to realize is, even if everyone is vaccinated on schedule, we don't just magically become free to do whatever instantly. We need time to ensure infected is actually curbed and that people are not at risk. As long as some risk is present, I think basic preventative measures ie masks will still be in place.

    At least in June, you have a shot at having your wedding outdoors. That's practically impossible in October once temperatures drop, especially in the evening.
